This photograph shows the Heinkel He 115B-1 floatplane 'F64 , of the Royal Norwegian Navy after its arrival in the UK.
The Norwegians had their own He 115A-2s, with 'F64 , being a later Luftwaffe example captured during the German invasion of
Norway in Apri!1940 and flown to Scotland with the surviving He 115As after Allied forces withdrew from Norway. The photo
is thought to have been taken in early 1941 at Scottish Aviation's Greenock works where the Heinkels were overhauled
before entering RAF service and shows that British markings have been applied, but it still awaits the painting of its RAF serial
number, BV187. It was W.Nr 2400, formerly 'M2+FH' of Kustenf/iegergruppe 106. (Via Phi! Butler)
The Junkers Ju 89P 'DD-GE', photographed at Schleswig. This was one of two Junkers Ju 89P high-altitude reconnaissance
aircraft captured at Fassberg in May 1945. Both were ferried to Schleswig, where one (Air Min 82, W.Nr 5132) belly-landed on
27Aug1945. This aircraft is believed to be Air Min 118, W.Nr 086-5161, which had reportedly been used by
Rheinmetall-Borsig GmbH for chemical warfare experiments. (AC Hislop via Phi! Butler)
Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6/U2 TP814 (W.Nr 412951) was landed at RAF Manston in error by its Luftwaffe pilot, Lt Horst Prenzel, on
21Ju11944. It was flown to Farnborough five days later and, after being flown at the RAE eight times, was ferried to the
Air Fighting Development Unit at Witlering on 31Aug. This photo was taken at the AFDU on 18Sep1944 at the same time as
some official recognition photos. (Via Alan Curry)
