El Santuario de Lourdes<br />
Es el segundo destino de peregrinación<br />
católica después de Roma y sin duda uno<br />
de los lugares más visitados de Francia.<br />
Se encuentra situado en la pequeña<br />
ciudad de Lourdes en la región de<br />
Hautées Pyrénées (Altos Pirineos), dentro<br />
de un valle rebosante de verdor y frescura.<br />
Los bellos paisajes, la naturaleza,<br />
la tranquilidad y sobre todo la fe y<br />
devoción en la Virgen de Lourdes son<br />
características que acompañan<br />
el modo de vida de esta zona.<br />
Hoy en día, el Santuario de Lourdes es<br />
un lugar maravilloso, un santuario<br />
universal cuya fuerza reside en la<br />
diversidad sus gentes. Considerado como el<br />
primer destino de peregrinación mariana<br />
del mundo, los peregrinos y visitantes que<br />
vienen a Lourdes proceden de todos los<br />
continentes. Cada año, más de 6 millones<br />
de personas acuden a este lugar, entre<br />
quienes cabe mencionar a los jóvenes y<br />
sobre todo a los enfermos, que llegan<br />
en busca de alivio y esperanza.<br />
Tres símbolos caracterizan este<br />
santuario: el Agua, signo de purificación,<br />
la Roca, lugar de las apariciones, y la Luz,<br />

The Lourdes Sanctuary<br />
