Vehicle identification
In the vehicle identification, the
vehicle data are determined for
all modules.
Standard functions
The standard functions are represented by icons and can
be accessed at any time from all modules. They relate to
the entered vehicle data and the accessed process steps.
Module bar
The icons in the Module bar
can be used at any time to
switch between the individual
modules.
It is also possible to switch
into EPC.
Module area
The selected module with the respective operating options is displayed in the module area.
Each module has one or more Control bars. The Control bar uses logical steps to define the efficient use of the application.
Example of a Control bar ("WIS" module):
WIS module
The Workshop Information System lets you quickly search for
workshop information.
ASRA module
ASRA is the electronic catalog of work units/flat rates.
SSL module
Searches for or determines the damage code (abbreviated in German
as "SSL": Schadensschlüssel) for warranty or goodwill cases.
MSS module
The Maintenance Service System displays the maintenance documents
relevant to maintenance of a vehicle.
Online Help
This icon activates the Online
Help. It offers extensive
explanations.

WIS/ASRA 3 operation – At a glance
Vehicle identification
Most functions of the application are based on the vehicle identification for all modules.
In the vehicle identification, the vehicle data are ideally determined by entering a vehicle identification number.
If the vehicle identification number is unknown, vehicle identification can alternatively be carried out by using the
pull-down menus and specifying model designations.
After entering the vehicle data, click the icon in the Module bar to switch to the desired module.
WIS module
WIS permits you to quickly search for workshop
information with standard search.
1. In the step, the
standard search is activated as a default setting
in the "Search mode" pull-down menu.
In order to start the search, you must specify
the groups and the information types in the
respective tree structures.
If these required search criteria have been
selected, the "Start search" button in the
Control bar is activated.
2. Click in the Control bar.
→→The document search is started.
3. If the document search is successful, then
in the
step, the hit list
of the found documents is displayed.
4. Double-click the desired document in the hit
list.
→→The WIS document is displayed.
ASRA module
ASRA is the electronic catalog of work units/
flat rates that facilitates the search for operation
items and working hours.
1. In the step, you define the
groups that are required to determine the
operation items.
If a group is selected, then the "Select operation
items" button in the Control bar is activated.
2. Click in the Control
bar. The operation items to be performed are
selected using the option buttons and this
transfers them to the operation items list.
3. Click in the Control
bar. The operation items are listed in the operation
items list and totaled.
→→If necessary, you can use the Toolbar
to modify the operation items list.
SSL module
The SSL module lets you either determine the
damage code for warranty and goodwill cases
or search for feedback messages pertaining to
an existing damage code.
1. In the
step, you can determine the damage code or
search through an entry.
2. When you select a group using the tree
structure, this displays a picture and the
associated list of damaged parts.
3. In order to determine a damage code, the
fault location, the fault type, the repair type
and the warranty type must be specified in
the corresponding lists, in the picture and using
the option buttons.
4. If the damage code has been determined,
then the button
is displayed as activated.
→→The damage code can be inserted into the
target application.
MSS module
The MSS module can be used to display
the maintenance documents relevant to the
maintenance of a vehicle and to create
vehicle-specific service sheets using ASSYST.
1. In the step, different
options are displayed once the model
designation has been determined.
After an option is selected, the different steps
are displayed in the Control bar, depending on
the option selected.
2. Depending on the option selection the
process step
is displayed as activated.
→→The maintenance document can be
displayed.
Note:
If the vehicle has ASSYST, then this option is
always displayed in the first line of the list in
the "Select information" step. The Control bar
guides you step-by-step to the display of the
vehicle-specific service sheet.
