Subsystem and the Offline Monitoring Subsystem.
For specification of data acquired from satellite data sources, the following notation is
used:

2.2 H-SAF External Interfaces
2.2.1 Introduction
External interfaces involve at least one H-SAF external actor (system or user not
belonging to the H-SAF context) and at least one H-SAF internal actor (subsystem,
component or subcomponent).
Interfaces among external users without the participation of an H-SAF element are not
classified as “H-SAF External Interface”, even when exchanged data is produced inside H-
SAF system and/or disseminated through an H-SAF component.
The external interfaces are here classified into two groups:
Data Acquisition interfaces: have as external actor a source data (Satellite data
sources) or a system producing input data for the H-SAF generation chains. The
data flow starts outside and goes toward internal element of H-SAF.
Data Distribution interfaces: have as external actor a user or a system to which
products and reports generated inside H-SAF are sent. The data flow starts inside
H-SAF and goes towards external actors.
2.2.2 Data Acquisition Interfaces Overview
Here are detailed the external interfaces that H-SAF requires in order both for acquiring
input data and for disseminating products to users during operational phase (Table 1).
Offline Monitoring Subsystem has no data acquisition interfaces.
External actor can be an Organization as well an Institute. Internal actor is an H-SAF
component.
