Helping your kids at home with school through roots home study outreach programme is

to find the information. It’s about bonding with your child, spending time with them when
things are a bit tricky and not leaving them feeling abandoned in confusion.
Helping your child with their homework also shows them that you value school and learning.
Your involvement tells your child that education is important and valued by you. The

It's all about consolidating your child’s learning – it’s not about trying to catch them out about
what they don’t know. They shouldn’t have to do something completely new, it’s more about

Children develop at different rates and most children are more advanced in some areas and
slower in others. We all have strengths and weaknesses. So be patient and try to understand
and figure out the child’s need.
GETTING HOMEWORK DONE – THE BASICS:
Sit at a table with pencils, rubbers, colours and paper to hand
Turn off the TV
Try to keep away distraction
Choose a time when your child is best able to work. After a quick snack or after tea and
before bed perhaps.
Try to stick to the same routine
