Anne Molin Kongsgaard likes her<br />
Americano dark and h<strong>as</strong> a dognamed<br />
after a red wine, Fetzer.<br />
She h<strong>as</strong> lived quietly in the most<br />
southern part of Norway with<br />
friends until 1999, when she<br />
jumped onto the pro circuit. Since<br />
then, she's been traveling around<br />
the world, riding for Burton, and in<br />
2000 placed 2 nd or 3 rd at every<br />
major contest in Europe and<br />
America. In 2001 Anne suffered a<br />
knee injury that sidelined her for<br />
about a year.<br />
"Donka." A sweet, slightly accented<br />
voice answers the phone,<br />
"Hello," I replied. "I'm calling from<br />
Salt Lake City , UT."<br />
It's nearly 1Opm when I get hold of<br />
Anne at home in Norway. She's<br />
hangin' with friends on a Monday<br />
night. L<strong>as</strong>t week Anne w<strong>as</strong> in<br />
London, for the Burton world tour.<br />
This coming week she'll travel from<br />
Norway to Sweden before coming<br />
to Denver, Salt Lake, and Portland.<br />
"So are you ready for the se<strong>as</strong>on?"<br />
I <strong>as</strong>ked.<br />
"Yes, very ready. I'm coming over<br />
on the 10 th to live at Mammoth<br />
with [gold medalists] Kelly Clark<br />
and Kjersti Bu<strong>as</strong>s". I turn the<br />
questions to my hometown and<br />
<strong>as</strong>k if she h<strong>as</strong> ever rode the<br />
Greatest Snow on Earth. "No, I'm<br />
embarr<strong>as</strong>sed. I w<strong>as</strong> going to l<strong>as</strong>t<br />
year, but something came up so I<br />
didn't make it out. Burton h<strong>as</strong> a<br />
house there, so I'll be coming out<br />
for sure this se<strong>as</strong>on."<br />
"So the Burton tour will be your first<br />
time in Utah?"<br />
"Yeah, besides the airport for layovers."<br />
Anne says her influences are the<br />
ladies she lives with and the ones<br />
that have been pushing her, Keir<br />
(Dillon) and Trevor (TZA). "But<br />
just who ever. You watch movies<br />
and there's a iot of great riders."<br />
I <strong>as</strong>ked what her future plans were<br />
besides the world tour, and moving<br />
to Mammoth.<br />
"I think Breckinridge, CO for the<br />
Vans (Triple Crown) contest on<br />
Dec. 12 th ." She also wants to<br />
shoot <strong>as</strong> much <strong>as</strong> possible and film<br />
with "Dawger " (Mack Dawg<br />
Productions), who she h<strong>as</strong> worked<br />
with in the p<strong>as</strong>t.<br />
The Burton World Tour will make<br />
two shop stops in SLC: Salty<br />
Peaks on October 16 th from 4-6<br />
pm and Blindside the following day<br />
17 th from 5-7 pm.<br />
There will be a Video Permier of<br />
Burton's promo video "Good<br />
Times" at Bricks on the 16 th from<br />
6-10 p.m. Featured riders include:<br />

DeMarchi, Anne Molin<br />
Kongsgaard, David Carrier<br />
Porcheron, Ross Powers, Gig!<br />
