Back To School Newsletter
Superintendent’s Message
As the summer draws to an end and the realization that a new school year is
almost here, I am always encouraged by the hopeful anticipation and
excitement that is generated by our students and staff. We have been busy
this month preparing for opening day on the sixteenth of August, and we are
pleased to provide you with this “Back to School” newsletter to make sure
that you have all the information you will need for a smooth start.
As we enter this new school year we are excited about the opportunities
that exist for us to make improvements in the area of academic achievement for all students,
and to continue our efforts toward building a collaborative partnership with our parents and
community.
This partnership starts by creating an environment of open communication, meaningful
dialogue and mutual trust. The value of a quality education begins with the partnership
between the home and school. Our School Board, district administration, building principals,
and staff are committed to continue or begin this collaborative partnership with you.
Back to School Supplies
Back to school means making sure students have all the supplies they need for learning. Each elementary and middle school has
they reopen on August 8, 2011) and are posted on each school’s website.
Parents in need of school supplies for children K-12 will need to contact their Communities In Schools’ site coordinator at their
school building.
If anyone wishes to provide support to other families in the form of school supplies please contact “Tools for Schools”.
