Sarah Cartmill, a 2002 graduate of
Binghamton, completed her first year
with the program as an assistant coach
in 2010-11.
Cartmill arrived from St. Bonaventure,
where she was part of a staff that
guided the Bonnies to an 80-48 record
as well as a pair of WNIT appearances
in four years. She was heavily involved
with the recruiting process and worked
specifically with the post players. In her
final season, Cartmill coached a pair of
In the Binghamton record books, Cartmill ranks second all-time with
1,862 career points and third with 784 rebounds. During her four years
at Binghamton, the squad went 94-22, captured a pair of ECAC Division II
championships and advanced to the 1999 NCAA Division II Tournament.
Cartmill capped her career by being named the 2002 America East Player of
the Year in the Bearcats’ first year at the NCAA Division I level.
Following graduation, Cartmill played two years professionally in Ireland and a
year in Denmark. She coached several girls’ school age teams during that time. In
2005, Cartmill began her coaching career as a graduate assistant at Ithaca College.
