the events Center
Since Feb. 7, 2004, the Binghamton women’s basketball team has played its home games in the state-of-the art Events Center.
With a capacity of 5,142, it is the largest arena in the Southern Tier and one of the largest facilities in the America
East Conference.
Without question, the Events Center has been widely acclaimed as an
outstanding facility. The Bearcats have made themselves at home in the Events
Center, going 58-41 during the past eight seasons. Five years ago, Binghamton had
a home record of 11-2 and last season, it went 10-2.
In addition to its record on the Events Center court, the Binghamton women’s
basketball team has been just as successful at the box office. In 2005-06, 2006-07,
and last season, the Bearcats led the America East Conference in home attendance.
Binghamton concluded the 2006-07 season by hosting the America East Conference
Tournament.
The Events Center also has hosted the 2005, 2006 and 2008 America East
Conference men’s basketball championships. Over 14,000 fans flocked to the threeday
tournament in 2005.
As Binghamton continues to progress as a Division I program, so too does
its game day environment at the Events Center. The Binghamton University
Pep Band, under the direction of Mo Taylor, is now in its fourth season. The
Binghamton spirit squad, consisting of the Kickline, Dance Team and Cheer
Team has grown in numbers as well as routines, both before and during all
home games.
In addition to athletics, the Events Center has been the host of numerous
concerts, shows, festivals and other prominent area events.
