Rociprolaps Rociprolaps are easily one of the coolest grinding machines you’ll ever run across. If you’re working larger flat pieces, just sit them in the pan with some loose grit and water and let it go. The rotation and vibration of the pan along with the weight of the piece is all it takes to grind it down. Also excellent for polishing larger surfaces Specifications: • 1/3HP, 6 amp motor. • Cast iron base and mill flattened lap plate. • Lap plate contains 3/16" x 1/2" divets that provide lubrication and grit dispersion beneath glass objects. • Contains 12 nylon balls and 6 steel disks for smooth operation. These are the only consumables needed for maintenance. • Shipping weight on 20": 250lbs; 24": 280lbs; 30"-two crates:275lbs and 180lbs; 36"-two crates: 300lbs and 310lbs. $50.00 crating charge per crate- not included in price. Rociprolap Parts and Accessories The main consumables on a Rociprolap are the small steel plates and the nylon balls that the pan runs on. Changing these on a regular basis will keep your Rociprolap running in tip-top condition. Other parts are available as well including replacement pans for use with various grits on the same base unit. Formica splash guards and replacement rubber bumpers are also available along with replacement bearing keepers for balls and plates. Sure you can send the plate out and have it blanchard ground (a service we also provide through the manufacturer), but sometimes it’s easier to do routine maintenance on your pan and avoid the hassle and headache of shipping your pan off to be ground down. Our Sintered Diamond wheel flattener works with all 24 inch Rociprolaps. Simply put the flattener in the Rociprolap with some water and a pinch of grit to get it started. Add barbell weights onto the center handle for additional weight, and a ring to keep it along the side. Allow the flattener to run and it will keep your pan flat. Running this for a few hours every month or two to maintain pan flatness is a great way to make sure your work is always the best it can be.
