Intercollegiate “Y” board meeting
recognized the voluntary effort in

Y’s Men’s Club purchased a site
on Lake Wabamun for a new
location of Camp Keewaydhin.
Volunteer work parties did a
major part of the work.

Volunteer fitness instructors

training and orientation program
before going out into the

The YMCA is one of the world’s
largest volunteer organizations.
The YMCA of Edmonton relies
on 600-800 volunteers a year,
giving 25,000-30,000 plus hours.
Each year our YMCA has recognized outstanding volunteer achievements
and since 2003 the Volunteer of the Year Award has been named in
honour of Bill Rees. Bill Rees has been a YMCA member and volunteer
continuously for the last 49 years. For the last 15 years Bill has been a
full time volunteer with the YMCA of Edmonton working in the areas of
fundraising and relationship development.
