was produced by Ms. Roshini Fernando, Senior
Microfinance Specialist of GTZ - ProMiS (Promotion
of the Microfinance Sector) with research
support from Ms. Tharmini Kularajasingam and
in collaboration with the BWTP Network. Special
thanks are due to Dr. Dirk Steinwand, former Senior
Advisor of GTZ-ProMiS, during whose tenure this
assignment was initiated. His guidance and valuable
advice contributed substantially to the successful
