ONGOING PROJECT1. Greenhouse Installation/training in Gang Aghlee villageJang Aghlee village is located 10-km away from center of Dahana-e-Ghori. This capacity buildingproject will train participants in the construction and use of green houses. CBSG will hold 8workshops in various locations, which last 3 days each, serving at total of 160 participants. Courseparticipants will build a greenhouse and learn how green houses can be used to improve the yieldsof certain crops during the training session.2. Surrounding wall of Gharaw Shakh Boys and Girls High SchoolGharaw Shakh Boys and Girls High School is Located in Baghlan-e-Jadid district, the project site is36-km away from province center. The project will construct the surrounding wall to secure theschool environment until student feel safe and concentrate on their lessons.3. Road graveling of 1 km road in Tahiri villageThe project is about rehabilitation and graveling of 1.1 km road in Tahiri village, Baghlan-e-Jadiddistrict. The project will solve the resident’s transportation problem.4. Rehabilitation of 20m bridge wing wall and 67m retaining wallThis Small-scale structure project involves rehabilitation of retaining/ wing wall of the existingTorani ha village of Baghlan-e-Jadid district for protection of the agriculture lands. The distancebetween Pul-e-Khumri city and project site is 37-km. The total length of the retaining/ wing walls(in four separate portions) is 87 m.5. Green House installation and training in Naw Abad Kandahari HaVillageNaw Abad Kandahari ha village is located 3- km away from the district center and the districtcenter is 32-km away from the province center. This capacity building project is trainingparticipants in the installation and use of green houses. CBSG will hold 8 workshops in Naw Abadvillage, which last 3 days each, serving at total of 240 participants. Course participants will build agreenhouse and learn how green houses can be used to improve the yields of certain crops duringtraining session.6. Green house Installation and training in Mula Khail VillageMula Khail village is located 5- km away from the district center and the district center is 32-kmaway from the province center. Procurement Supplies for Hafiz Abad Middle SchoolIn accordance with a request submitted by Tor-e-Shaheed middle School Committee, the projectwill fund the provision of furniture to the school. The project site is located 17-km away from theprovince center.13. Tailoring Training for Women in Baghlan Jadid districtThe women Shura of Baghlan province, Baghlan Jadid District provides support and assistance to alarge number of widows and economically disadvantaged women. The organization has requestedassistance from USAID, through CSBG, in organizing a training session focusing on givingdisadvantaged women skills to earn income. The proposed grant includes training sessions givento groups of women in Baghlan Jadid District and the provision of equipment and materials such ascloth, sewing tables, sewing machines, and irons, ironing table, scissors and other materials.15. Poultry Vocational Training project for women in Baghlan-e-JadidThis project concerns provision of a capacity building training for 250 women. The training willfocuses on methods to provide the trainees with knowledge of keeping chicken better than thetraditional system common in the area. Construction of cages, drinkers and feeders for chicken areincluded in the project activities to substitute the old and traditional one. The trainees will betaught how they prevent chicken from affliction to deadly disease. Totally 1750 chicken will bepurchased by three person determined by Shura from the local bazaar, contrary to it, they will beprocured from neighboring provinces such as Kunduz and Mazar...etc. With 85 percent of presenceat the training, each trainee will be provided with seven hens by the Shura.16. The Kohistani village is 13-km away from districtcenter and district center is 32-km away from province center.20. Supplies for Aina Boys and Girls High SchoolIn accordance with a request submitted by Bibi Aina High School Committee, the project will fundthe provision of furniture to the school. The project site is located 22-km away from the provincecenter.21. Supplies for Bala Doori Girls SchoolIn accordance with a request submitted by Bala Doori Middle School Committee, the project willfund the provision of furniture to the school. The project site is located 9-km away from theprovince center.22. Supplies for Qala-e-Khawaja High SchoolIn accordance with a request submitted by Qala-e-Khawaja High School Committee, the projectwill fund the provision of furniture to the school. Procurement of Furniture for Hussain Khail (Hazrat Abu Bakar-e-Sadiq) High SchoolIn accordance with a request submitted by Hussain Khail NSP Shura, the project will fund theprovision of furniture to the school. The project site is located 12-km from the province center.26. Construction of canal intake and gate valve for Gaw SawarancanalThis small-scale infrastructure project will fund the construction of three Pipe culverts (di=35cm)and 3 Intake gate valve in Madrasa -e-Larkhbe village, Dahana-e-Ghori District. The project site islocated 16-km away from the district center and the district center is 22-km away from theprovince center.6


27. Procurement of furniture and tents for Messbah Cultural CenterMessbah Cultural Center is a community-run institution established by the Gaw Sawaran villagecommunity that has 15 teachers, 210 male and 160 female students. Due the increasing populationin the area, children have to attend class in 2 of shifts per day. Due to a lack of financial resources,the cultural center has been forced to function without adequate furniture. The cultural centercommittee has identified the school facilities as a deficient element contributing to absenteeism inthe schools, leaving more children susceptible to the negative influences that promote regionalinstability.28. Schools Administration Supply and Sport Equipment for 17 girlsSchools of Baghlan provinceThis small-scale project will fund 17 girl Schools for sport equipment, uniform and administrationfurniture in 17 various girl schools in different location of Baghlan province in three districts eachone Pule-e-Khumri, Baghlan Jadid and Dahana Ghori. This Grant is proposed by department ofeducation with joint collaboration of women affairs. They need to be provided with sport uniformand administration furniture. This project involves the equipment for sport, uniform for eachteams and administration furniture supply for four schools so the main activities are follow:1. Provision of furniture.2. Provision of Sports Equipment.3. Provision of uniform for Player.4. Transportation of the above mentioned items to each school29. Construction of Surrounding Wall for Iteefaq High SchoolThe small-scale project will fund the construction of a surrounding wall for Iteefaq HighSchool in Iteefaq village, Baghlan-e-Jadid district, the project is located 10-km away from thedistrict center and the district center is 32-km away from the province center. The school wasestablished by USAID in 2006. Rehabilitation and Gravelling of 2-Km road in Kook ChinarVillageThis small-scale infrastructure project would fund the rehabilitation and graveling of a 2- km longroad in Kook Chinar village, Baghlan-e-Jadid District. The road would be maximum 4.5 in width,with 18 cm of gravel on the surface of the road.Rehabilitation and Gravelling of 2 Km Road in Kook Chinar Village31. Train the trainer- Mental Health in Tepa-e-FarhatTepa-e-Farhat is located 2- km from the Province center. This capacity building, train the trainerproject will train participants in ways to identify people with mental health issues and basic ways toprovide assistance and support to individuals and families. CBSG will hold 4 workshops in variouslocations, which last 3 days each, serving at total of 150 male and 50 female participants.Participants of this training will be various authority figures such as teacher, principals, districtgovernment officials, and justice officials.32. Train the trainer- Mental Health in Tepa-e- SangakTepa-e-Sangak is located 1- km away from the district center and the district center is 30- km awayfrom the province center. This capacity building, train the trainer project will train participants inways to identify people with mental health issues and basic ways to provide assistance and supportto individuals and families. CBSG will hold 4 workshops in various locations, which last 3 dayseach, serving at total of 100 participants. Participants of this training will be various authorityfigures such as teacher, principals, district government officials, and justice officials.33. which will construct for community gathering are having three rooms (Office, meeting room andliteracy class) and a terrace.Rehabilitation of Community Center in Mula Sayed Rahim Village35. Provision of supplies for Dawlatzai middle schoolIn accordance with a request submitted by Dawlatzai Middle School Committee, the project willfund the provision of furniture to the school. Small business Training Workshop to Baghlan Cooperative UnionBaghlan-e-Jadid is located 32-km away from the province center. This capacity building training tocooperative union project will train participants in ways to enable the people to learn aboutAccounting, Management, Report writing and Marketing. CBSG will hold 5 workshops in Baghlane-Jadid,which last 6 days each, serving at total of 250 male participants. Participants of thistraining will be the members of Baghlan-e-Jadid cooperative union.37. Supplies for Baikh Girls High SchoolIn accordance with a request submitted by Baikh Girls High School Committee, the project willfund the provision of furniture to the school. The project site is located 10-km away from thedistrict center and the district center is 25-km away from the province center.38. Small business Training Workshop to Dahana-e-Ghori CooperativeUnionThis project concerns provision of capacity building training programs to 250 members of Dand-e-Ghori Cooperative <strong>Association</strong> in the Center of Dand-e-Ghori in 5 places. The cooperative wasrecently established by the people of Baghlan in order to unify and increase output of their effortsin regards to planting, increasing production and improving the rice and wheat grower's income, inaddition, almost 90% of Baghlan residents are dependant to agriculture and receiving income tofeed their families accordingly.39. Supplies for Niazullah primary SchoolIn accordance with a request submitted by Niazullah Primary School Committee, the project willfund the provision of furniture to the school. The project site is located 14-km away from theprovince center.9


40. Poultry enterprise for sarak-e-3 marketsSarak-e-3 village is 34-km away from province center. Sarak-e-3 Women Shura is an activewomen's association under the directorate of Baghlan agriculture department. This projectconcerns provision of a capacity building training for 250 women in Sarak-e-3 women Shura. Thetraining will focus on methods to provide the trainees with knowledge of keeping chicken betterthan the traditional system common in the area.41. Supplies for Bolak Mardad Primary SchoolIn accordance with a request submitted by Bolak Mardad School Committee, the project will fundthe provision of furniture to the school. The project site is located 14-km away from the districtcenter and the district center is 32- km away from the province center.42. Supplies for Bibi Maryam Primary SchoolIn accordance with a request submitted by Maryam Girls Middle School Committee, the projectwill fund the provision of furniture to the school. The project site is located 10-km away from thedistrict center and the district center is 32- km away from the province center.43. Installation of Green House in Yaka Tut VillagerGaw Sawaran village is located 7-km away from the province center. In spite, this project contains6 workshops and each workshop contains 3 days serving at total 180 participants. By which theycan learn the scientific method of cultivation, this project will provide opportunities for the farmersand local people from one side their awareness increased and other side it assist in their economy.Installation of Green House in Yaka Tut Villager44. Installation of Green House in Larkhawi Village:Larkhawi village is located 7-km away from the district center is 42-km away from the provincecenter. CBSG will hold 6 workshops in the region, which last 3 days each serving at total 160participants, course participants will built a greenhouse and learn how greenhouse can be used,The project materials are carried to the site.10

This capacity buildingproject will train participants in the construction and use of green houses. CBSG will hold 8workshops in various locations, which last 3 days each, serving at total of 160 participants. Courseparticipants will build a greenhouse and learn how green houses can be used to improve the yieldsof certain crops during a follow on training session. A senior master trainer is hired to developtraining materials and to provide the training sessions. Participants of this training were bothfarmers and community members who expressed interest in learning how to construct and use agreenhouse. The green houses are purchased and carried to project site.Green House Installation in Shahabuddin46. Green House Construction in Baghlan agriculture facultyBaghlan is located 18- km away from the province center. This capacity building project will trainparticipants in the construction and use of green houses. CBSG will hold 8 workshops in variouslocations, which last 3 days each, serving at total of 320 participants. Course participants will builda greenhouse and learn how green houses can be used to improve the yields of certain crops duringtraining session. Construction of Surrounding wall for Wazghari SchoolThis small-scale project will fund the construction of a surrounding wall for Wazghari School inWazghari village, Pul-e-Khumri district. The project site is located 15- km away from the Provincecenter. Wazghari High School is a state-run institution established by Ministry of Education in2010. The school has 13 teachers, 120 female and 330 male students attending classes in one shift.Due to a lack of financial resources, the school was constructed without a surrounding wall.Therefore the project has requested by community and it will create a safe environment tostudents.Construction of Surrounding wall for Wazghari School2. Larkhawi Women Shura is an active women'sassociation under the directorate of Baghlan Agriculture and livestock department. Construction of Gabion Retaining wall of Qaram Qul Clinic:Qaram Qul village is located in Baghlan-e-Jadid district; the site has 13-km away from center ofBaghlan-e-Jadid district. This clinic was constructed by provincial reconstruction team PRT in 2009.This wall is 60m long; in this project there are three kinds of Gabion with different sizes, whichprotect clinic from damages of flood. Shaikh Jalal School Gabion Retaining Wall:This project concern 60m long gabion wall to protect the Shaikh Jalal School which is located 13kmfar from Baghlan-e-Jadid district Center, the entitled school was constructed by ministry ofeducation in 2009 and its near to flood way. By construction of this gabion retaining wall, schoolwill be rescued from threaten of flood.Shaikh Jalal School Gabion Retaining Wall:6. Construction of surrounding wall for Gul Daraya High SchoolGul Daraya High School is located in Gul Daraya Village, Baghlan-e-Jadid district. The project site islocated 10-km away from the district center and the district center is 36-km away from theprovince center. This school established by the UNICEF in 2009 this school has 35 teachers. Due tolack of financial resources the school building was incomplete. This project will help the school tohave a safe environment and the students will feel safe during their lessons.Construction of surrounding wall for Gul Daraya High School7. Bridge Rehabilitation (Wing Wall) in Kohna Qala village:The project concerns 117-m wing wall for protection of existing bridge and agricultural lands inKohna Qala village. Procurement of Furniture for Ustad Ghulam Jilani Jalali SchoolThe project site is located 16 Km far from the district center, Ustad Ghulam Jilani Jalali school is astate-run institution established by Mrs. Ali Ahmad Jalali which has 18 teachers and 497 male and350 female students, due to lack of financial resources therefore project has hold to resolve thisproblem until the students find a particular place and study in a calm and favorable environment.The chair and desk are carried to the site.Procurement of Furniture for Ustad Ghulam Jilani Jalali School9. Conflict Resolution Course for females in Band-e-Do;The project is situated in Pul-e-Khumri city and it’s about solving conflicts logically, awarenessabout social justice, civil law and other issues which make the society peaceful and stable. 240participants in 8 groups each group contains 30 participants during 3 days workshop and now it’s infinished.Conflict Resolution Course for females in Band-e-Do16

Conflict Resolution Course for Joi-e-Naw Ahmad ZaiThe workshop training program will cover a thorough understanding of conflict resolution,promoting peace and security, human rights awareness, women rights, social justice, freedom ofthoughts, drug trafficking etc. In order to encourage strong participation in the course, anagricultural training component was also included, as most participants are associated with theagricultural sector. 240 participants attended the workshop in 8 groups; each group containing 30Participants will undergo a 3 days training.Conflict Resolution Course for Joi-e-Naw Ahmad Zai11. Conflict Resolution Course for females in Qul-e-Shahr-e-NawQul Shahr-e-Naw community Council is a legitimate social association which works independentlyto promote the public awareness about peace and stabilization as well as increase the capacity ofthis district's people. Qul Shahr-e- Naw village and its adjacent villages have about 3-km fromprovince center. Conflict Resolution Conflict resolution Course for females inShashsad KotiShashsad Koti community Council is a legitimate social association which works independently topromote the public awareness about peace and stabilization as well as increase the capacity of thisdistricts people. Shashsad koti village and its adjacent villages have about 1-km away fromprovince center. 240 participants attended the workshop in 8 groups; each group containing 30participants has undergone a 3 days training.Conflict Resolution Conflict resolution Course for females in Shashsad Koti13. Construction of Mangal Clinic Surrounding WallThe small scale project will fund the contribution of Mangal clinic Surrounding wall in Mangalvillage of Baghlan-e-Jadid which has 36-Km distance from Province center, while communitymembers have access to healthcare provides at the Mangal clinics which is one of the bestequipped clinic in the area, the Plastering work of Project is in progress.Construction of Mangal Clinic Surrounding Wall14. Procurement of Furniture for Mangal Girls Middle SchoolThe project sit is located 9 km far from district center and the district center is 32 km far from theprovince center. This school has established by ministry of education in 2009 that has 8 teachers475 female students. All materials are carried to the school.18

Construction of play ground and provision of sport equipments forMangala SchoolThis project involves the construction of Playground and provision of Sport equipment for MangalaHigh School in Mangala village of Baghlan-e-Jadid district, the Mangala High School hasconstructed by Swedish Committee on 1996. Its located 12km away from Baghlan-e-Jadid and ithas 32km distance from Pul-e-Khumri city 720 students are studying by 16 teacher, this project willimpact on students moral and encourage them to study hard.Construction of play ground and provision of sport equipments for Mangala School16. Small Business Workshop in Khawajan BabaKhawajan Baba village is located in North part of Pul-e-Khumri city, 37-km from Baghlan provincecenter. Khawajan Baba is a registered council, which consists of seven separate local Community<strong>Development</strong> Councils (CDCs), and has 3805 beneficiaries. This council wants to improve thecapacity of local people by conducting Small Business Workshop. There will be 240 participantsattending the workshop in 8 groups; each group, containing 30 participants, will undergo a 3 daystraining course. Participants of this workshop will be literate and semi literate villagers,shopkeepers, sellers, farmers, youth working in the farming sector and volunteer communitymembers. The training program will cover small business principles, business plans, marketing,practical business start-up methodologies, and micro finance resources.19

During the several past years, weakness of government toprovide sufficient services and being in border with other unsecure villages has prompted hugeinstability and lack of attention to the people. Noorzai villages suffer from insecurity which iscontributed by poverty as a primary driver of instability. We visitedtargeted areas and discussed with their communities about importance of CBSG projectsmanipulate and overtake to provide the required security for the projects planned activities inthat areas whether if their grant application approved.3. Any plans or major activities/ for the coming month• In coming month we will try our level best to start implementation projects which grantagreement has been signed and submitted in this month. We will meet with the Shura’s ofrelated projects and will discuss to make plan for security and implantation of projects. Also wewill trace the ongoing projects.41


1. Rakh Project:This project is the rehabilitation of irrigation canal of Rakh village. This project has beeninaugurated on 19 May 2011.The practical work of this project is 95% completed. The first milestone of this project is finishedand the second milestone documents have been sent to Creative for releasing the secondmilestone payment.The total length of this project is 500m, width is 0.5m and height of this project is 1m and 0.6m (theheight of mountain side is 1m and height of down side is 0.6m). This project is totally completedand its closing ceremony will be held soon.2. Khawak Project:This project is the repairing of existing small scale Vehicle Bridge in Khawak village of Paryandistrict. The project has been inaugurated on 31th May 2011.The bridge has four wing walls (two wing walls have 10m length and other two has 5m length andthe width of these wing walls are 1m in the foundation and 0.6m in the top. The stone masonry,PCC and Pointing are completely finished. The ironing work of girders will be started as soon aspossible. The first milestone fund is already finished and the second milestone documents havebeen sent to Creative Associates International for releasing the second milestone payment. Byreceiving the second milestone payment the project will be completed and officially be handedover to community and to related government department.43


3. Chelanak Project:The community of Chelanak has received the 1st milestone of this project but due to influx ofwater the community was not able to start the physical work. Based on the advice of Deputy FPOall the construction material was purchased and transported to project to be ready when the levelof water becomes normal. Now the water level is decreased and we have officially inaugurated theproject activities and 45% work of project has been completed.4. Kalkawa Project:This project is the repairing of existing Irrigationcanal in KalKawa village of Paryan district ofPanjshir province. The project has been inauguratedon 28th July 2011.The work of stonemasonry is 70%completed. The second milestone documents hasbeen sent to Creative for releasing the fund tocomplete the project activities soon.5. Deh Khawak Project:This project is the reconstruction of existing footbridge of Deh Khawak village. This project isinaugurated on 3 rd July 2011. The first milestonefund is finished and we have already sent the secondmilestone documents to Creative for releasing thesecond milestone payment. The stonemasonry ofthis project is completed and we will start the ironwork of this project after receiving the secondmilestone payment.6. Dustumkhail Project:This project is the Construction of Irrigationcanal in Dustum Khail village of Anaba Districtof Panjshir Province. The project has beeninaugurated on 20th August 2011. The practicalwork of this project has been started and 70%work has been completed. The first milestoneof this project is finished and the secondmilestone documents have been sent toCreative for releasing the second milestonepayment. This project has 450 meters length and divided in to two parts. Part one has 400meters length, 0.5 meters width and 0.5 meters height. Part two has 50 meter length 1-0.5meter width and 2.7-1.5 meters height.7. Begaran Project:This project is the construction of Irrigationcanal in Begaran village of Anaba district ofPanjshir Province. The project has beeninaugurated on 20th August 2011. The practicalwork of this project is started and 60% work hasbeen completed. This project has 500 meters44


length and divided in to two parts. Part one has 420 meters length, 0.5 meters width and0.5 meters height. Part two has 80 meters length 0.6 meters width.8. Events / ceremonies that occurred during this month in Panjshir provinceOn 5th October the DFPO of USAID has visited the Dustum Khail and Begaran projects and hethanked ADA/CBSG staff for the good quality of work.On 10th and 17th of October Mr. Qasim Ahmadzai the M&E officer from CREATIVE visited theBegaran, Dustan Khail irrigations canal and Khawak and Deh Khawak vehicle and foot bridges.9. Security situation/s encountered:In all around <strong>Afghan</strong>istan Panjshir is the only Province where the security situation is 100%satisfactory. Nobody is doubtful about security problem. Panjshir province has showed greatcommitments to the government of <strong>Afghan</strong>istan.45

This road was in poor condition andduring the winter when heavy rains occurred theresidents of Urtuzulam can’t easily walking and theyfaced with lots of problems. By implementation ofthe project this problems of the residents will besolved. The project is ongoing and 96% work hasbeen completed. This project will be completedwhen 2nd milestone payment transferred tocommunity account.2. Gravelling of 2.1-Km Road and installation of 6 Pipe culverts:The road responds to a primary community grievance of Guzar Qeshlaq village, Dasht-e-Qaladistrict, Takhar province. The project will improve relationship between the local government andthe community, contributing to stability. This projectis ongoing and 96% work has been completed. Thisproject will be completed when 2nd milestonepayment transferred to community account.3. Tailoring training for women in HajiShukrullah village:The training was facilitated by local trainers with theaim to further improve the capacity and tailoring learning of local women in Haji Shukrullah villageof Dasht-e-Qala district, Takhar province. The training included procurement of lady cloths fortailoring learning, Sewing machine and other equipment, these equipments will be distributed toeach trainee after completion of course period. The project will empower women to accessgovernment services and earn an income.The project will train 100 trainees by 10 trainers and this tailoring training will enable the traineesto learn tailoring and after the complication of the project tailoring will be a big source for theirincome. This project is ongoing and 50% work has been completed.4. The project willencourage community and government tocooperate with each other and it is a key factor forstability.This project is ongoing and 96% work has beencompleted. This project will be completed when 2ndmilestone payment transferred to communityaccount.7. Gravelling of 2-Km Road andconstruction of one culvert:The project responded to a top priority of the community of Choraq Lala Guzar village of KhawajaBahauddin district, Takhar province. The project willenable links to the district center and togovernment services, contributing to communitygovernment cooperation, a necessary factor ofstability. This project is ongoing and 96% work hasbeen completed. This project will be completedwhen 2nd milestone payment transferred tocommunity account.8. 2.450Km Road gravelling project inQab chin Gozar village:This project is top priority of community. Qab chin Gozar road gravelling project was in poorcondition and during the winter when heavy rainsoccurred the residents of Qab Chin Gozar couldn’teasily walking on the road and they faced with lotsof problems but now this problem of the residentssolved and the residents of Qab Chin Gozar have asafe and proper road for their transportation.The project has a positive impact on this communitywhose roads links to the rest of remote villages inKhawaja Bahauddin district. This project is ongoingand 96% work has been completed. This project willbe completed when 2nd milestone paymenttransferred to community account.50


9. 2.070Km road gravelling and installation of 6 pipe culverts:The road will enable the community of Kara TepaBala village of Darqad district to easily travel to thedistrict center and benefit from the governmentprovided services, especially health facilities. Thisproject is ongoing and 96% work has beencompleted. This project will be completed when2nd milestone payment transferred to communityaccount.10. 2.1-Km road gravelling and installation of two pipe culverts:This project is the top priority of community of Terakay village of Darqad district. The road will enablethe community to easily travel to the district centerand benefit from the government provided services,especially health facilities. This project is ongoingand 96% work has been completed. This project willbe completed when 2nd milestone paymenttransferred to community account.11. 2.13-Km road gravelling project inMusazai village:The project will bring the community closer to thelocal government and increasing the capacity of thecommunity to implement initiatives of a similarnature. Darqad district is one of the most insecuredistrict of Takhar province. By implementation ofthis projects peace and stability will be restored inthe area. This project is ongoing and 96% work hasbeen completed. This project will be completedwhen 2nd milestone payment transferred tocommunity account..12. Opening ceremonies:1. On 20 October 2011, Opening ceremony for 2.05-Km road gravelling and construction of fourculverts was held in Alang village of Dashti Qala district, Takhar Province. The ceremony wasattended by GIRoA representatives, Alang CDC members, Head of DDA, religious scholars,community elders and CBSG representatives.Head of Alang CDC added the residents of Alangvillage have long suffered during the internalwar and they faced to the lack of proper road, byimplementation of Alang road gravelling projectthe people will access to district center andhealth services and this project is the top priorityof the community. This project will help peopleto have a safe and proper road which willprovide improved access to other villages and51


markets. The project will have a positive impact on this community whose roads links to therest of remote villages in Dasht-e-e Qala.2. On 20 October 2011, the Opening ceremony of 1.950-Km road gravelling and construction ofthree box culverts and four pipe culverts project was held in Ghaz Tipa Village of Dasht Qaladistrict.The ceremony was attended by GIRoA representative, Ghaz Tipa CDC members, Head of DDA,religious scholars, community elders and CBSG representatives.The Road in Ghaz Tipa village of Dashti Qala district is in a very poor condition and traveling tothe district center and health services center is very difficult, especially during the winter whenheavy rains made road impassable. The lack of proper road made it difficult for the communityto access government services and health center in the district center, by implementation ofthe project this problems of the villagers will be solved.3. On 25 October 2011, Opening ceremony for 1.50Km road gravelling and construction of oneculvert project was held in Noor Khil village of Darqad district. The ceremony was attended byGIRoA representatives, Head of DDA, Noor Khil CDC members, religious scholars, communityelders and CBSG representatives.Mr. Noor Ali Head of the Noor Khil CDC thanked USAID/CBSG for the funding that will enablethe community to the project. He added that the road will improve community access togovernment services, mainly health facilities, and promised to fully support theimplementation of the project.4. On 20 Oct 2011, Community received first milestone payment for park equipment andconstruction of play ground project in Nahia-e-Say of Khawaja Bahauddin district.On 25 Oct 2011 agreement signed between Abdul Fathah Mukhlis Metalworking Company andNahia-e-3 CDC for making park equipment such as 2 Barfly, 21 benches, 1 Parallel, 1 see saw, 1swing and 1 slide.The community of Nahia-e-3 will use this park for their entertainment without the basicresources. No playground and sport equipment were provided thus far. By provision of sportplayground and equipment will lead to increase in sport number of men and higher motivationto exercise and regular attendance.5. On 20 Oct 2011, Community was received first milestone payment for park equipment andconstruction of play ground project in Darqad district.On 26 Oct 2011 agreement was signed between Abdul Fatah Mukhlis Metalworking companyand Darqad center CDC for making park equipment such as 2 Barfly, 21 benches, 1 Parallel, 1see saw, 1 swing and 1 slide.Construction of playground and procurement of park equipment are the top priority of thecommunity. The people of Darqad district will use this park for their entertainment withoutthe basic resources. No playground and sport equipment were provided thus far. By provisionof sport playground and equipment will lead to increase in sport number of men and highermotivation to exercise and regular attendance.Darqad district is one of the most insecure district of Takhar province. By implementation ofthis project peace and stability will be restored in the area.6. On 20 Oct 2011, Community received first milestone payment for motor cycle repairing courseand procurement of repairing tools project. During the next week opening ceremony for Motorcycle repairing training and procurement of repairing tools project will be held in Shahri Jadidof Dashti Qala district.52


The ceremony will be attended by GIRoA representatives, Head of DDA, Shahri Jadid CDCmembers, religious scholars, community elders and CBSG representatives.Motor cycle training course is the top priority of community of Shahri Jadid, byimplementation of this project the trainees will learn how to repair motor cycle and aftercompletion of the project they will be engaged in repairing of motorcycle and it will be the bigsource for their income.53
