Tortilla Factory, The
Paulsen, Gary 1 2 N
Harcourt Brace & Company, 1995
Gary Paulsen, one of America’s favorite authors for young people, collaborates with his wife, Ruth, who creates oil-onlinen
paintings to illustrate this book about making tortillas. Paulsen’s simple, but eloquent, language takes the reader
on a journey, from field to factory to table, explaining the creation of a tortilla. On a deeper level, this picture book
celebrates the life cycle where the tortilla nourishes the farmer who once again plants seed for the corn to make tortillas.
