Admission of International (I-20) StudentsThis school is authorized under Federal Law to enroll non-immigrant foreign students.Foreign students are those whose entry into <strong>and</strong> stay in Guam <strong>and</strong> the United States isprescribed by <strong>and</strong> subject to the limitations of a Non-Immigrant Visa, including but notlimited to F-l, L-l/2 etc.Students who score 500 or above on the TOEFL may be admitted as Regular Students ifthey meet all other UOG admission requirements. Students who score below 500 on theTOEFL will be admitted as ELI Students.Prospective international student applicants interested in the University of Guam shouldwrite to the Office of Admissions <strong>and</strong> Records at least six (6) months before theirexpected date of enrollment. This is to insure adequate time for the University to receive<strong>and</strong> evaluate all of the necessary requirements for admission. Refer to the AcademicCalendar for admission deadlines or inquire at the Office of Admissions <strong>and</strong> Records.Foreign students should observe the following regulations:a. Complete the regular student admission requirements listed earlier in thissection;b. When making application, submit the results of the TOEFL (Test ofEnglish as a Foreign Language). Details concerning this examination maybe obtained from TOEFL Test, Educational Testing Service, Princeton,New Jersey 08540, USA.c. Make adequate financial arrangements for the desired period of enrollmentat the University of Guam. Proof of a guaranteed minimum amount of$1,000 must be submitted for initial entry. No financial assistance isavailable at the University.d. Upon arrival at the University, take the placement tests in English,Speech, Mathematics, <strong>and</strong> any other required qualifying examinations.(See “Transfer Credit” section.)49
