Ghamami Education Syllabus 2013To achieve these objectives and to maximize your learning process, you will haveexpected behaviors in support of these objectives:• Preparation - thoughtful completion of reading and written assignments beforecoming to class. The scope and intensity of the subject matter will require students tostudy independently outside of class time, both reading and reflecting on the material.• Participation - being prepared and willing to share ideas, respond to thoughts ofpeers and instructor and discuss ideas with colleagues.• Seeking connections between ideas and concepts encountered throughout thecourse in order to build a deep, complex understanding of diversity in the workplace.NonePre and Co-requisitesCourse RequirementsAttendance:This course will require a great deal of time for reading andpersonal reflection. All of us will benefit from each other’sperspectives, honesty, compassion, and commitment to each other.My goal is to provide you with a classroom environment that isnurturing and safe to enable us to access ideas and issues you maynot have previously considered or been aware of. Therefore, yourattendance and active participation are vital to achieving the goalsof this course.This course is being delivered via iTV format. For moreinformation regarding Folsom Lake College’s iTV program, pleasevisit the following URL:http://www.flc.losrios.edu/student-services/itvStudents may attend class in any of the class locations noted aboveat the Folsom main campus, El Dorado center, and RanchoCordova center locations. Students in all three rooms areencouraged and expected to actively participate. When speaking inclass, the student’s microphone button should be manuallyactivated/depressed by that student for the duration of theircommentary, such that students at all other locations andmodalities may hear that student’s commentary.2
