(c) Provide recipients with an opportunity to c<strong>on</strong>tribute to the costof the service as provided in Sec. 1321.67;(d) With the c<strong>on</strong>sent of the <str<strong>on</strong>g>older</str<strong>on</strong>g> pers<strong>on</strong>, or his or herrepresentative, bring to the attenti<strong>on</strong> of appropriate officials forfollow-up, c<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong>s or circumstances which place the <str<strong>on</strong>g>older</str<strong>on</strong>g> pers<strong>on</strong>, orthe household of the <str<strong>on</strong>g>older</str<strong>on</strong>g> pers<strong>on</strong>, in imminent danger;(e) Where feasible and appropriate, make arrangements for theavailability of services to <str<strong>on</strong>g>older</str<strong>on</strong>g> pers<strong>on</strong>s in weather relatedemergencies;(f) Assist participants in taking advantage of benefits under otherprograms; and(g) Assure that all services funded under this part are coordinatedwith other appropriate services in the community, and that theseservices do not c<strong>on</strong>stitute an unnecessary duplicati<strong>on</strong> of servicesprovided by other sources.Sec. 1321.67 Service c<strong>on</strong>tributi<strong>on</strong>s.(a) For services rendered with funding under the Older AmericansAct, the area agency <strong>on</strong> aging shall assure that each service providershall:(1) Provide each <str<strong>on</strong>g>older</str<strong>on</strong>g> pers<strong>on</strong> with an opportunity to voluntarilyc<strong>on</strong>tribute to the cost of the service;(2) Protect the privacy of each <str<strong>on</strong>g>older</str<strong>on</strong>g> pers<strong>on</strong> with respect to his orher c<strong>on</strong>tributi<strong>on</strong>s; and(3) Establish appropriate procedures to safeguard and account forall c<strong>on</strong>tributi<strong>on</strong>s.(b) Each service provider shall use supportive services andnutriti<strong>on</strong> services c<strong>on</strong>tributi<strong>on</strong>s to expand supportive services andnutriti<strong>on</strong> services respectively. To that end, the State agency shall:(1) Permit service providers to follow either the additi<strong>on</strong>alternative or the cost sharing alternatives as stated in 45 CFR92.25(g) (2) and (3); or(2) A combinati<strong>on</strong> of the two alternatives.(c) Each service provider under the Older Americans Act may developa suggested c<strong>on</strong>tributi<strong>on</strong> schedule for services provided under this part.In developing a c<strong>on</strong>tributi<strong>on</strong> schedule, the provider shall c<strong>on</strong>sider theincome ranges of <str<strong>on</strong>g>older</str<strong>on</strong>g> pers<strong>on</strong>s in the community and the provider's othersources of income. However, means tests may not be used for any servicesupported with funds under this part. State agencies, in developingState eligibility criteria for in-home services under secti<strong>on</strong> 343 of theAct, may not include a means test as an eligibility criteri<strong>on</strong>.(d) A service provider that receives funds under this part may notdeny any <str<strong>on</strong>g>older</str<strong>on</strong>g> pers<strong>on</strong> a service because the <str<strong>on</strong>g>older</str<strong>on</strong>g> pers<strong>on</strong> will not orcannot c<strong>on</strong>tribute to the cost of the service.21
