Arts and CraftsBeginning WatercolorThis class will give the basics of watercolor. Students will learn the use of paints, paper, and brushes. Instruction will include color, value, andtechniques of watercolor. There will be demonstrations on different subjects such as landscapes and still life, with consideration for students’ needs.Experimentation with materials and techniques will be encouraged. Students will learn to sight proportions and use value to depict form. This classis for both beginning and intermediate students. Lessons will alternate between careful rendering and a looser more gestural style. Pencil, charcoal,pastels, and erasers will be explored. Some techniques from “Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain” will be used. Materials list will be available atfirst class. $75.
