The purpose of the Hall of Honor Awards is to recognize and honor formergraduates of <strong>Clovis</strong> High <strong>School</strong> whose achievements, strengths of character, and citizenshipserve as models to inspire and challenge today’s students. The Foundation also gives a Top CatAward to recognize and honor former faculty members and other individuals whose service toand in support of the <strong>Clovis</strong> <strong>Municipal</strong> <strong>School</strong>s has been outstanding. The Hall of Honor displayis located at <strong>Clovis</strong> High <strong>School</strong>.The distinguished recipients will be honored at the 2013 Hall of Honor Banquet on April 13 th ,6:00 pm, at the <strong>Clovis</strong> Civic Center, 801 Schepps Boulevard. The public is invited to this specialevent. Tickets can be purchased at the <strong>Clovis</strong> <strong>School</strong>s Administration Office, 1009 N. MainStreet beginning on March 18 th . Individual tickets are $37 and tables of 8 - $265.CHS Alumni Classes are especially invited and will be recognized at the event. This is anexcellent venue for all CHS Alumni to get together and enjoy the traditions of the greatPurple and White!The 2013 <strong>CMS</strong> Foundation/Alumni Hall of Honor Distinguished Inductees are:BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY CATEGORYDr. Marsha Pomeroy-Huff1977 CHS GraduateDr. Pomeroy-Huff received her Bachelor’s degree from San Jose State University in 1986, twoMaster’s degrees from Duquesne University in 1988 and the University of Pittsburg in 1996. Shereceived her doctorate from the University of Pittsburg in 1999. Dr. Pomeroy-Huff is a Master ofSoftware Engineering at the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University and isan Adjunct Professor at Carnegie Mellon University. She is a lecturer and technical advisor inSoftware Process Improvement and does private consulting in project management, timemanagement, and personal organization techniques. Dr. Pomeroy-Huff is the author of severaljournal and technical articles and has also presented at numerous conferences and workshops.The mission of the <strong>Clovis</strong> <strong>Municipal</strong> <strong>School</strong>s, an alliance highly committed to educational excellence, is to equip eachstudent with the knowledge and skills needed for a productive life of creative thinking, continuous learning,and exemplary character through challenging and engaging learning experiences led by a dedicated,unified team in vital partnership with family, church, and community.


GOVERNMENT AND SERVICE CATEGORYHonorable Jimmie V. Reyna1971 CHS GraduateJudge Reyna received a B.A. from the University of Rochester in 1975 and a J.D. from theUniversity of New Mexico <strong>School</strong> of Law in 1978. He was appointed as Federal Judge to the USCourt of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, Washington D.C. by President Obama in 2011. JudgeReyna is a recognized expert in international trade, trade policy, and customs matters. He is anoted and prolific author on trade topics and has earned a stellar reputation as a practitioner,scholar, advocate, and humanitarian. He served in numerous positions for the American BarAssociation and served as National President of the Hispanic National Bar Association. JudgeReyna is a recipient of the Ohtli Award, the highest honor bestowed by the Mexican governmentfor non-Mexican citizens.SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENT CATEGORYTim Sanders1979 CHS GraduateTim Sanders attended Loyola Marymount University and graduate school at the University ofArizona. He is a popular national and international keynote speaker, a business consulting expert,and an international best-selling author. He is the CEO of Los Angeles tech start-up Net Mindsand founder of Deeper Media Incorporated that conducts research on business trends, new media,and human behavior. Prior to these positions, he was the Chief Solutions Officer at Yahoo, aswell as Leadership Coach. He is a strategic consultant to leading brands, associations, andgovernment agencies.TOP CAT AWARDLynell Skarda(awarded posthumously)Lynell Griffith Skarda was born on August 28, 1915 in <strong>Clovis</strong>. Mr. Skarda received a B.S. inChemistry from the University of California, Berkeley. He graduated from Washington & LeeUniversity <strong>School</strong> of Law in 1941 and practiced law in <strong>Clovis</strong> for eight decades. He was the<strong>District</strong> Attorney for the 9 th Judicial <strong>District</strong> of New Mexico early in his career, and he served inthe Army Air Corps during World War II. In 1954, he was admitted to the bar of the U.S.Supreme Court and won his case, Moore v. Mead's Fine Bread Company. He was Chairman ofthe Board of The Citizens Bank of <strong>Clovis</strong>, which was founded by his family. Mr. Skarda was astrong supporter of <strong>Clovis</strong> and numerous local agencies personally and through The CitizensBank of <strong>Clovis</strong>. He died at home in <strong>Clovis</strong> on September 2, 2012.Eric RoanhausEric Roanhaus graduated with a BS degree from West Texas University in 1969 and a Mastersdegree from Eastern New Mexico University in 1984. He coached at West Texas University forone year and two years at Canyon High <strong>School</strong>. He has coached football for 40 years at <strong>Clovis</strong>High <strong>School</strong> and has been the head football coach for 35 years. During the 2012 football season,he became New Mexico’s Prep Football Coach with the most Career wins. Honors that he hasreceived include: New Mexico Coach of the Year, Amarillo Globe News Coach of the Year,National Regional Coach of the Year, New Mexico High <strong>School</strong> Coaches Association Hall ofFame, and Amarillo Globe News Hall of Fame.The mission of the <strong>Clovis</strong> <strong>Municipal</strong> <strong>School</strong>s, an alliance highly committed to educational excellence, is to equip eachstudent with the knowledge and skills needed for a productive life of creative thinking, continuous learning,and exemplary character through challenging and engaging learning experiences led by a dedicated,unified team in vital partnership with family, church, and community.
