DICOM STORAGE COMMITMENT SERVICE <strong>CONFORMANCE</strong><strong>STATEMENT</strong>This section describes the con<strong>for</strong>mance statement <strong>for</strong> the storage commitment functions supported in<strong>Centricity</strong> <strong>PACS</strong>. They are implemented in the Storage AE as the SCP role of the DICOM StorageCommitment SOP Classes.6.1 RECEIVE STORAGE COMMITMENT REQUEST FROM REMOTE AEThe Storage AE constantly listens <strong>for</strong> incoming associations to receiving a Storage Commitmentrequest (as well as DICOM Storage SOP Instances) from a remote AE.The Storage AE is able to accept a presentation context <strong>for</strong> the Storage Commitment – PUSH ModelSOP Class either in a dedicated association, or in a single association together with presentationcontexts <strong>for</strong> DICOM Storage SOP Classes. The behavior of the Storage AE with respect to the StorageCommitment service is the same in the both cases.The Storage AE is able to serve multiple DICOM associations simultaneously. The maximum numberof the concurrent associations that the Storage AE can accept is configurable (see Section 2.6.2 andTable 2-4).6.1.1 Associated Real-World ActivityThe following real-world activities are associated with the Receive Storage Commitment Requestoperation (refer to Figure 2-2):1. The Storage AE places a job (transaction) in the <strong>Centricity</strong> Storage Commitment Queue.The job includes all SOP instances requested <strong>for</strong> storage commitment, as well as the callingDICOM AE Title. For each job, a timer is started when it is added to the Storage CommitmentQueue.2. The Storage AE constantly polls the queue <strong>for</strong> a job which response can be sent back to theoriginal requester.Note:Other components of <strong>Centricity</strong> <strong>PACS</strong> will process the Storage Commitment Queue andupdate the status of the Jobs (pending or completed or failed or time-out). This is beyond thescope of this con<strong>for</strong>mance statement document.6.1.2 Accepted Presentation ContextSee Table 4-1 in Section 4.1.2.As shown in Table 4-1, the Storage AE can accept any of the three transfer syntaxes listed <strong>for</strong> theabstract syntax DICOM Storage Commitment - PUSH SOP Class. The DICOM Server can beconfigured to accept the presentation syntaxes with one or several or all of these transfer syntaxes.6–49
