To learn about the specific activities they do in programs, youth who attended the Boys & Girls Club in the fourmonths prior to the final survey were asked whether or notthey did each of 15 types of activities at the Club. All youth(whether or not they had attended the Club in the previousfour months) were also asked whether they did those sameactivities outside of the Club during that same time period. These activities were grouped into five categories: informalactivities, athletic programs, academic programs, other programs, and paid and volunteer work.Table D.3 presents the proportion of youth who had beento the Club in the past four months who did each of theseactivities—whether inside the Club, outside the Club, orboth. For comparison, it also presents the proportion ofyouth who had not been to the Club in the past four monthswho did each of these activities outside of the Club. Asdescribed in Chapter III of the report, a greater proportionof youth who had been to the Club in the past four monthstended to have done each of the activities—whether insideor outside of the Club. The two exceptions were: working ata job for pay and participation in a class in math, science oranother academic subject.
