Thesystem is designed around Instech’s miniature Clarkstylepolarographic electrode. Measuring only 1/8 ofan inch in diameter (3.2 mm), it is ideal for metabolicstudies of mitochondria, cell suspensions, and enzymeassays.This system includes everything you need for oxygenmeasurement on two independent channels: a dualchannel amplifier, two oxygen electrodes, and twochamber systems. It also includes accessories to simplifyelectrode maintenance. The chambers can be setup in two basic configurations:Batch cell mode, for measuring oxygen consumption in asealed 600µl sample. The batch cell chamber includesa magnetically-coupled stirring system, connectionsfor circulating water to maintain a constant temperature,and a unique window-valve for filling, rinsing,or injecting solutions into the chamber.Flow cell mode, for in-line measurement of oxygen insolutions flowing past the electrode. The controllers use a unique“pseudo tachometer” feedback circuit which reduceselectromagnetic interference.The dual channel Model 2060 is a lower cost perchannel option than the Model 1060. It is also themost frequently ordered model since many oxygenexperiments require two channels.
