<strong>Oxygen</strong> Measurement<strong>Biological</strong> <strong>Oxygen</strong> <strong>Monitoring</strong> <strong>Systems</strong>The SYS203 dissolvedoxygen monitoringsystem shown with itstwo chamber blocks setup in batch cell modeThe SYS203 is a complete, flexible system designedspecifically for oxygen measurement in small samples,as is frequently required in biological research. Thesystem is designed around <strong>Instech</strong>’s miniature Clarkstylepolarographic electrode. Measuring only 1/8 ofan inch in diameter (3.2 mm), it is ideal for metabolicstudies of mitochondria, cell suspensions, and enzymeassays.This system includes everything you need for oxygenmeasurement on two independent channels: a dualchannel amplifier, two oxygen electrodes, and twochamber systems. It also includes accessories to simplifyelectrode maintenance. The chambers can be setup in two basic configurations:Batch cell mode, for measuring oxygen consumption in asealed 600µl sample. The batch cell chamber includesa magnetically-coupled stirring system, connectionsfor circulating water to maintain a constant temperature,and a unique window-valve for filling, rinsing,or injecting solutions into the chamber.Flow cell mode, for in-line measurement of oxygen insolutions flowing past the electrode.
