Picnic Area & Athletic Field ReservationsPicnic AreasEleven picnic areas are currently available for use. They are located at Central, Devonshire,Emerson, Hamlin, Laramie, Lorel, Lockwood, Lyons, Oakton, Schack, and Terminal Parks.Picnic Area ReservationsReservations may be made on a “first-come-first serve” basis. Applications may besubmitted beginning on March 1 for the current year (April 1 through September 30).Please make your request early in order to assure your preferred date and location. Noreservations will be taken over the phone. Picnic area availability may be checked by calling(847) 674-1500, but available dates cannot be guaranteed until a “Special Park UsageApplication” has been submitted and approved. Usage Applications are available online atwww.Skokieparks.org and at all park district facilities. Security deposits are $100 and mustbe submitted with the Usage Application. The application approval process takes at leastone week. Resident picnic area fees are $35 for five-hour blocks on weekdays and $50 forfive-hour blocks on weekend days & holidays (Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day). Non-residents fees are $70 for five-hour blocks on weekdays and $100 for fivehourblocks on weekend days & holidays (Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day). All above fees are doubled for 11 hour blocks and then discounted by $15. Proof ofresidency is required to receive resident rates.Athletic Field ReservationsBaseball, Softball, Soccer fields and our Cricket Practice Pitch can be reserved for group rentals. Please make your request early in order to assure your preferred date andlocation. Theseapplications are necessary to maintain the health and vigor of desirable plants and retain the aesthetic quality of our parks. Each park will be posted with signs in thespecified application areas. Signs will be posted just prior to application and will remain until the following day. All procedures concerning notification and application ofchemicals for the treatment of turf grass or plants shall conform to the guidelines outlined in the Skokie Park District’s pesticide policy as well as State regulations. Foradvanced notification, contact Steve Ames, Landscape Specialist at (847) 674-1500, ext. 2804.Participant Behavior Code of ConductThe following behavioral code of conduct will be used as a guideline for Skokie Park District program participants. Participants will:1. Show respect to all other participants, staff, and volunteers.2. Follow direction from staff and volunteers.3. Show respect to equipment, supplies, and facilities.4. Not use inappropriate, abusive, or foul language.5. Not show any aggressive behavior (hitting, punching, slapping, kicking, biting, etc.) regardless if the behavior is initiated or in retaliation.6. Not show continuous disruptive behavior.7. Obey all Skokie Park District rules and regulationsNo Smoking in the Skokie Park DistrictIn accordance with Illinois State Law and according to the Skokie Park District Usage Ordinance, Section C.26, smoking is not allowed in all Park District buildings,restrooms, and enclosed or partially enclosed sports arenas. Additionally, smoking is prohibited within 15 feet of all entrances, exits, windows that open, and ventilationintakes that serve these areas. Smoking is also prohibited within 50 feet of all parks, playgrounds, or other non-enclosed Park District facilities when organized children’sactivities or organized special events are present. Any person who violates any provision of the ordinance’s Section C.26 shall be fined an amount that is not less than $100and not more than $250.
