AHFRP is dedicated to “Bridging the Gap<br />
ABetween Health Care and <strong><strong>Fit</strong>ness</strong>” by providing<br />
advanced training in post rehab services to<br />
those fitness professionals who wish to work with<br />
clients with medical conditions. Our courses are<br />
taught by licensed medical professionals with clinical<br />
experience working with clients with orthopedic,<br />
sportsmed, industrial, cardiovascular and neurologic<br />
disorders. Our courses offer “functional learning”<br />
that can be immediately applied to post rehab<br />
training. We are the oldest and most widely recognized<br />
post rehab association in the world with more<br />
than 10000 certified members on 5 continents.<br />
We offer three levels of certification; the<br />
Medical Exercise Specialist is the most widely recognized;<br />
the Post Rehab Conditioning Specialist is<br />
an entry level post rehab certification and the<br />
Medical Exercise Program Director is for those<br />
professionals who wish to develop and administer<br />
post rehab programs in health clubs, corporations<br />
and physiotherapy and chiropractic facilities.<br />

SMedicine set the gold standard in 1975,<br />
ACSM-certified professionals have consistently<br />
demonstrated the highest level of qualifications<br />
and expertise in all areas of exercise testing and<br />
prescription, both treatment and prevention from<br />
clinical and rehabilitation programs in hospitals<br />
to corporate wellness centers to local parks and<br />
recreation departments to senior continuing care<br />
programs to health and fitness facilities. Other<br />
certification programs are modelled after ACSM,<br />
but no other meets the Gold Standard. ACSM<br />
certification is recognized by your peers and<br />
potential employers as the gold standard—it<br />
should be your next step in exercising your professional<br />
career potential.<br />

he Aquatic Exercise Association is a not-<br />
Tfor-profit organization dedicated to the<br />
CERTIFICATION<br />
growth and development of the aquatic fitness<br />
industry and the safety of the public<br />
served. Originating in 1983 as clearinghouse<br />
and network for aquatic fitness professionals,<br />
AEA is now represented in over 50 countries<br />
with Certification, Education and Membership<br />
opportunities.<br />
Key events for 2005 include the<br />
International Aquatic <strong><strong>Fit</strong>ness</strong> Conference<br />
(IAFC) scheduled for May 17-21 in San Diego,<br />
CA, two Fall Regional Conferences in<br />
Charlotte, NC (November 17-19) and Boston,<br />
MA (December 1-3), and six Extended<br />
