vertical strip of six 9cr. brown-lilac used on 1856 cover from Florence to New
York, all cancelled by the five barred obliterator in black; all stamps in the
strip having superlative margins for this issue. “Firenze” despatch cds below
(Aug 27) and framed “PD” in red alongside. Struck with “Boston Br. Pkt./5”
datestamp of entry (Sept 14) in black at left. A rare and most attractive
