A US Navy veteran he was the last living charter member of Pine Level AmericanLegion Post 405. He was a member of the Pine Level Free Will Baptist Church. A gravesideservice, with military honors, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Selma MemorialGardens with the Rev. Carlton Powell Hospice Center. The Harnett County native was born March 31, 1924, to thelate Lester and Sarah Pleasant Young. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde YoungDupree. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel inAngier. Burial will follow at Sandy Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.Survivors include daughters, Cathy Snipes and husband Larry of Dunn, Teresa Stauffer andhusband Ross of Garner; a son, Jimmy Dupree of Willow Spring; sisters, Edna Earl Kelly ofFuquay-Varina and Cleo Johnson of Angier; former daughter-in-law, Barbara Dupree;grandchildren, Ryan and Chris Dupree, Kevin Snipes, Suzanne McCall, Brandon and TravisParrish; and five great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
