industry newsThe Victorian show broke records for attendanceConsumers flock to pool showsPERTH, MELBOURNE AND SYDNEY RECENTLY HADCONSUMER POOL SHOWS WITH POSITIVE RESULTS.IN a positive sign for the industry,recent pool and spa shows in three stateshad variously good and great responsesfrom consumers.The Victorian industry is in a positivemood following the Melbourne Pool &Spa Expo which broke records for visitorattendance in February.It represented a 29 per cent increasein visitor numbers over the previousconsumer expo with 15,725 consumerscoming through the door. The Sundayattendance was particularly good, settingan all-time record and leaving exhibitorsThe Perth show had exhibitors run off their feetweary but happy.In Perth, the consumershow was heldon a sizzling Marchweekend. The temperatureshovered aroundthe 40-degree mark,but the hottest eventin town was the Pool,Spa and Outdoor LivingExpo at Claremont Showgrounds.This was the seventh version of theannual event and was the second biggestyet, as thousands of people flocked tohave a look at the latestin pools, spas, paving,umbrellas, water slidesand everything youcould possibly think ofto do with pools andoutdoor living.The exhibitors werereportedly thrilled withthe response, with manycontracts signed on theday and numerous moreleads to follow up. Accordingto the organis-Testing out the comfort of a spaers, great credit must go to the exhibitorsfor the extraordinary effort in makingtheir stalls look fantastic.The next Perth show is in September.In Sydney, the consumer Pool & SpaExpo played host to many exhibitors,had 12 consumer seminars and distributedmore than 3500 SPASA Pool and SpaEssentials magazines over two days.The Expo provided an excellent platformto showcase products and servicesdirectly to the public under one roof atRosehill Gardens Event Centre.According to the organisers, the generalconsensus was that the level of genuineinquiry had surpassed expectations andthat they were very satisfied with theleads generated.splashmagazine.com.au <strong>SPLASH</strong>! | 11
