1970 The class of ’70 held a stag Friday, Sept 10th at Covington
Catholic. There were about 65 to 70 alumni in attendance.
It was great to see so many Saturday afternoon, and a hand full of the class
attended the CCH vs. Campbell County football game. To kick the night
off, the Colonels beat the Camels 49-14! Later that evening, there was a
dinner at the Devou Park Golf Club House. A great night was had by all.
There were about 50 alumni in attendance. Thanks to the committee for
planning a great weekend!
1975 The class of ’75 had their 35th reunion on Friday, October
22nd , and Saturday, October 23rd , 2010.On Friday, 15
classmates went to beautiful Keeneland Race Course in Lexington and
enjoyed a day at the races. The weather was great and the luck was fair.
Jockey Robby Albarado (friend of Rick Lux) joined the group after the
races for some tailgating and pictures. On Saturday, the class attended the
Cov Cath vs. Dixie Home Coming Game (a 40 -36 CCH victory) and had a
party that evening at PEE WEE’s. Altogether, 45 classmates attended.
1980
We had a great weekend! Friday was spent golfing and
getting together at Dickmann’s sports cafe. Saturday
started with a prayer service with the football team. There was a victory
on the football field later in the day to make the weekend even sweeter.
The Colonels beat the Campbell County Camels 49-14. The weekend
concluded with a fantastic pig roast at Kroth’s farm courtesy of Dave
Kroth’s family. We had great attendance for the weekend. We offer a huge
thanks to Pat McGinnis, Dave Kroth and families for a great 30 yr reunion.
We have some commemorative cut crystal glasses still available. If you
would like one give Greg Moser a call at 513 608 6688.
1985 On September 11th , the class of ’85 celebrated our 25 th
year reunion by enjoying a Colonels football win over
Campbell County, highlighted by the chance to go out on the field at
halftime for a class photo at the 50 yard line. After the game, those who
attended the game gathered in the cafeteria for a post-game reception
where we met and heard the latest on the school’s activities from Principal
Bob Rowe. That evening, a large group of ’85 grads (and wives) enjoyed
a Reds walk-off win from the Cincinnati Bell Riverboat Deck at Great
American Ball Park. It was great to see everyone, as several had not seen
each other in many years… Special thanks to Aaron Fausz for traveling all
the way from Atlanta and to honorary grad Pat Coyne for traveling from St.
Louis. Kudos to David Geis for sporting the C-Coat (and having it fit) the
entire day. Most frequent comment was that many were surprised that we
already have guys in our class who have retired! Everyone who attended
looks forward to getting back together for the 30 year reunion, and we hope
that even more of our classmates can join us then.
1990
The class of ’90 chartered a bus and went to Keeneland
on October 9th. We had perfect weather and had a great
time. It was great catching up with some old classmates.
1995
On the weekend of October 8th & 9th, the Class of 1995
celebrated their 15-year reunion. On Friday night the guys
gathered to watch the CCH vs. Scott football game and then continued the
night at Pee-Wee’s, sharing some great laughs and memories. On Saturday
night, the guys joined the 1995 seniors from NDA in a joint dinner and
dancing event with their spouses at The Florentine in Florence. It was a
great event DJ’d by classmate Tim Gleason; a great time was had by all.
It was definitely fun seeing everyone again and we’re already looking
forward to our 20-year reunion in 2015!
2000
The class of ’00 celebrated their 10th year reunion the
weekend of October 23 and 24. The reunion was attended
the alumni watched the Cov Cath football team beat the little Colonels of
Dixie in a thrilling come from behind victory. After the game, the alumni
enjoyed a grill out and a corn hole tournament at the school cafeteria.
Thanks to all who helped make the reunion such a fun weekend!
2005
Covington Catholic Journal 15
Our 5 year consisted of dollar beers down at The Beer
Sellar in Newport. We had a fairly good turn out and it was
great to see so many old faces. Some of the NDA girls from ’05 came over
to join us after their celebration in Mt. Adams. Big thanks to Travis Burns
for all of his help to make the 5 year reunion possible.
