Luncheonmeeting, third Friday each month.Due to the fact that Engineers Daywas heid at Golden on March 15,Colorado Section postponed theirmeeting to the following Friday,March 22, which was held at the OxfordHotel.President Lay announced that inthe future very little business wouldbe conducted during the regular luncheonsso as to give all possible time tothe principal speaker. It was announcedthat the committees appointedlast meeting had begun to functionvery satisfactorily.The meeting was turned over toMr. Bruce LaFollette who in turnintroduced the principal speaker, Dr.H. H. Nininger, world renowned authorityon meteorites. Dr. Niningerdelivered a very interesting talk on hisvarious experiences. One of whichwas recently made by airplane intonorthern Colorado with Warren Prosser,_Ex-'07, in search of a meteoritewhich fell in that vicinity last year.Colorado Section was indeed fortunatein obtaining Dr. Nininger for itis understood that he is in great demandail over the United States todeliver his ideas on Meteorites. This gave the evening offine fellowship a good start and itprogressed to a regular old times<strong>Mines</strong> "session" as the evening advanced.Our new prexy "Bob" Brummettthen discussed his program andoutlined his policies for the j'ear, whichshould result in proving the slogan"Southern California leads the AlumniParade." Following the President'spep talk "S miiin' Frankie" Browngave a discussion on chapter finance todisclose the new "painless process"policy adopted by our new administration.^ Then for two hours, which passedlike so many minutes, guest speaker,Frank Pearson, showed over threethousand feet of film and accompaniedthem with a narrative of a six months'big game hunting expedition intodeepest Africa. Speaker Pearson completely"debunked" the audience frompopular impressions of the danger ofthis sport depicted by certain awe inspiringanimal films of the movies.The habits of the animal life and nativecustoms and life were interestinglytold and shown. Mr. Brook wasassisted by R. S. Brummett, Presidentof the Southern California Section.The new group was designated as theArizona Section, the membership toconsist largely of those former studentsof the school residing in Arizona.The spirited Miners from Goldenwere given a rousing address by PresidentBrook regarding the aims of theAssociation and the wide range ofactivities of the other sections. Twentyinspired charter members of the newsection are determined to assist theorganization in its work and to exceedthe high level of accomplishmentof the other sections.
