690 _________________________ WIDE AREA NETWORK DATA CONCENTRATION EQUIPMENT7:mÐProcedure on receipt of breaksignal. This parameter speci®es theoperation to be performed upon entry of a breakcharacter. Possible values of thisparameter include: 0Ðnothing; 1Ðsend an interrupt; 2Ðreset; 4Ðsend anindication of breakPAD; 8Ðescape from data transfer state; 16Ðdiscard output.Similar to parameter 3, parameter 7 can be coded as a single function or as the sumof a combination of functions.9:mÐPadding after carriage return. This parameter allows pad characters to beinserted after carriage returns to provide time for the print head of electromechanicalprinters to be positioned to column 1 after printing a line. Otherwise, the ®rst few characters at the beginning of a new line could be lost. Possible valuesof this parameter are: 0Ðno padding; 1 to 7Ðthe number of padding characters.10:mÐLine folding. This parameter determines how many characters areprinted on a line. When a line contains more characters than the value in line foldingoutput exceeding the value is printed on a subsequent line or series of lines. Possiblevalues of this parameter are: 0Ðno line folding; 1 to 255Ðline folding with thenumber specifying the maximum number of characters per line.12:mÐFlow control of the terminal PAD. This parameter permits ¯ow controlof received data using X-On and X-OFF characters. Possible values are: 0Ðno ¯owcontrol; 1Яow control.13:mÐLine feed insertion after carriage return. This parameter instructs thePAD to insert a line feed LF) into the data stream following each carriage returnCR). Possible values are: 0Ðno LF insertion; 1Ðinsert an LF after each CR in thereceived data stream; 2Ðinsert an LF after each CR in the transmitted data stream;4Ðinsert an LF after each CR in the echo to the screen. The coding of thisparameter can be as a single function or a combination of functions by summing thevalues of the desired options.15:mÐ<strong>Ed</strong>iting. This parameter permits the user to edit data locally or at thehost. If the local editing is enabled, the user can correct any data buffered locally, otherwise it must ¯ow to the host for later correction. Possible values of thisparameter include: 0Ðno editing in the data transfer state; 1Ðediting in the datatransfer state.16:mÐCharacter delete. This parameter permits the user to specify whichcharacter in the ASCII International Alphabet Number 5) character set will beused to indicate that the previously typed character should be deleted from thebuffer. Possible values for this parameter include: 0Ðno character delete; 1-127Ðcharacter delete character.17:mÐLine delete. This character is used to enable the user to specify whichcharacter in the character set denotes that the previously entered line should bedeleted. Possible values are: 0Ðno line deleted; 1-127Ðline delete character.18:mÐLine display. This parameter enables the user to de®ne the characterwhich will cause a previously typed line to be redisplayed. Possible values are: 0Ðno line display; 1-127Ðline display character.20:mÐEcho mask. This parameter is only applicable when parameter 2 is set to1. When this occurs parameter 20 permits the user to specify which characters willbe echoed. Possible values include: 0Ðno echo maskall characters echoed); 1Ðnoecho of character CR; 2Ðno echo of character LF; 4Ðno echo of characters VT,HT, FF; 8Ðno echo of characters BEL, BS; 16Ðno echo of characters ESC,
