SAT and PSAT/NMSQT ResultsThe SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) is a globally recognizedcollege/university admission test that is used to assistcolleges/universities determine whether they will accept aparticular student. It is used as a part of the application forUS colleges, Korea, Singapore and if a student is not a full IBDiploma candidate, it may be required in other countries.It is important to note that SAT scores are just one of manyfactors that colleges consider when making their admissiondecisions.The SAT tests students’ skills in, and knowledge of, reading,writing and mathematics:The critical reading section includes reading passages andsentence completionsThe writing section includes a short essay and multiplechoicequestions on identifying errors and improvinggrammar and usageThe mathematics section includes questions on arithmeticoperations, algebra, geometry, statistics and probability.At UNIS Hanoi many of our students will sit this set ofstandardized tests, usually in Grade 11 and/or Grade 12.In addition, all Grade 10 students will sit the PreliminarySAT/National Merit Scholarship (PSAT/NMSQT).
