Dear Friend of <strong>Eastside</strong> <strong>Catholic</strong>,<br />
It is my pleasure and privilege to welcome you to<br />
the 2012 STARS gala! All of us at <strong>Eastside</strong> <strong>Catholic</strong><br />
welcome you to an entertaining auction evening of<br />
socializing with old friends and new acquaintances<br />
while we raise unprecedented levels of funding to<br />
keep the <strong>Eastside</strong> <strong>Catholic</strong> education both<br />
accessible and affordable for your sons and<br />
daughters and for future generation of EC families.<br />
<strong>Eastside</strong> <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>School</strong> only progresses!<br />
Applications to the school are up, and the programs<br />
continue to expand. We are able to offer an<br />
outstanding <strong>Catholic</strong> education for your daughters<br />
and sons, and the 2012-2013 school year promises to<br />
be our best year yet.<br />
<strong>Eastside</strong> <strong>Catholic</strong>'s touchstones of academic<br />
excellence, relationships and servant leadership<br />
flourish, and our students demonstrate each day<br />
that they are passionate about their education, their<br />
responsibility to each other and their commitment to<br />
service. With our dedicated and extraordinarily<br />
competent Faculty and Staff, I am so proud of these<br />
young people as they grow academically and<br />
personally in maturity and faith. Without question,<br />
<strong>Eastside</strong> <strong>Catholic</strong> is strong because of our<br />
outstanding student body and, in the greatest<br />
measure, because of you, their parents and<br />
supporters. Clearly, our future is bright.
On behalf of the entire <strong>Eastside</strong> <strong>Catholic</strong><br />
community, I offer heartfelt gratitude to staff<br />
coordinator, Elizabeth Leider, and to her incredible<br />
auction chairs, Sue Richards, Annette Alling and<br />
Mindy Morgan. Warm thanks, as well, to the<br />
numerous volunteers. Each chair, each volunteer,<br />
and the staff coordinator have worked tirelessly to<br />

It is with great pride and pleasure that I<br />

Beauty”. This important event is both a celebration<br />
and acknowledgment of our amazing <strong>Eastside</strong><br />
<strong>Catholic</strong> Community. As we continue the work of<br />
building our school, through great families,<br />
outstanding academics, strong extracurricular<br />
activities and facilities, it brings into the sharp focus<br />
the commitment, passion and energy that you all<br />
bring to our mission. For this, I offer my sincere thanks,<br />
as we could not do it without your continued<br />
support.<br />
Many people have worked tirelessly to ensure<br />
that this very important event represents all that is<br />
good about <strong>Eastside</strong> <strong>Catholic</strong>. Our community<br />
continues to amaze me as it demonstrate servant<br />
leadership, diligence and the strong belief that<br />
creating opportunity for a diverse range of students<br />
to attend our school is not only the right thing, but<br />
also our responsibility as a <strong>Catholic</strong> community<br />
which makes this event even more important and<br />
meaningful. I would also like to offer special thanks<br />
to Sue Richards, Annette Alling, Mindy Morgan, and<br />
Elizabeth Leider for all their hard work in making this<br />

Silent Auction<br />
All items in the Silent Auction have bid sheets<br />
nearby. To place a bid, write your bid number on<br />
the bid sheet. Most silent items will have a<br />
GUARANTEED BID amount. By signing your bid<br />
number in the guaranteed bid box, the bidding<br />
closes. Please write legibly. When the Auction closes,<br />
the highest bid is a legal contract to purchase the<br />
item.<br />
Live Auction<br />
Live Auction bidding will begin around 8 p.m. When<br />
bidding, hold up your bid number toward the<br />
auctioneer, so it can be seen.<br />
A signature or verbal bid during the Auction<br />
constitutes a legal contract to buy. All sales are final<br />
and there will be no exchanges or refunds unless<br />
indicated. In all cases of dispute, the decision of the<br />
Auction Steering Committee is final.<br />
Restrictions and Expiration<br />
Please pay attention to all conditions, restrictions<br />
and expiration dates on items and services. Except<br />
where noted by the donor, services, tickets,<br />
certificates, etc. must be used within one year of the<br />
Auction and are subject to mutually agreed upon<br />
times and dates. <strong>Eastside</strong> <strong>Catholic</strong> assumes no<br />
responsibility for travel arrangements. No refunds will<br />
be made for cancelled tickets or accommodations.
Warranties and Representations<br />
The <strong>Eastside</strong> <strong>Catholic</strong> Auction Steering Committee<br />
has attempted to catalog and describe the<br />
property correctly, but all items are sold “as is.” The<br />

which is both functional and decorative. Each<br />
student chose small pieces of colored glass<br />

original work. It’s beautiful enough to display as<br />
a piece of original art in your home, yet also<br />

for the words of the Lord’s Prayer creating this<br />

Ms. Martin's and Mr. Fraley's 8th Grade Advisory<br />
Classes collaborated to create this gorgeous<br />
planter box. First, each student pounded a<br />
copper cross to create an interesting and<br />
unique texture. (Plus, it’s fun to hammer stuff!)<br />
Then, they painted the copper cross using<br />
toothpicks. (Okay, some of them used their<br />
fingers.) Even Sister Mary and Father Heric<br />
joined in the fun creating the two larger crosses<br />
displayed on each end of the box. The crosses<br />
have been attached to the antique wooden<br />
tool box with copper nails. This box could be<br />
used inside or out! Fill it plants and display it on<br />
your porch to welcome friends and family to<br />
your home, or set it on your table to create an<br />
amazing centerpiece. It’s Pretty! It’s Practical!<br />

Sammamish. Sangria and Tinto de Verano will be<br />
served along with other tasty Spanish bites. Chris<br />
Gorman, the winemaker from Gorman Winery will<br />
be on hand pouring his award winning wines<br />
throughout the evening. The Seattle Dance<br />
Company will perform the Fandango and the<br />
Flamenco followed by instruction for those who<br />

You will discover your inner artist! Each person<br />
will be creating a mininum of two glass pieces,<br />
and will be able to take them home after they<br />
