As always, alovely lunch at the HHYC followed thepresentation.The <strong>April</strong> excursion set for Tuesday,<strong>April</strong> 17, will be a visit to South OrangeCounty and the home and gardens ofHelen Modjeska. Tucked away amidst alive oak grove on the banks of SantiagoCreek in Modjeska Canyon lies thecentury-old home of world renownedactress Madame Helena Modjeska.Named for the grounds’ resemblance tothe Forest of Arden in the Shakespeareanplay, “As You Like It,” Arden is designateda National Historic Landmark. Docentled tours of the historic house andgardens are currently offered four times amonth, by advance reservation only. Thiswalking tour designed for adults will takeus through the years Madame Modjeskaresided in her canyon home, and alongthe rock lined pathways of what she sofondly called the Forest of Arden. Wethank one of our members, Toni Aquino,who set up the planned excursion andlunch at a nearby restaurant!The May meeting, our fi nal onefor the 2011-2012 season, will be aninstallation luncheon at ShenandoahArbor Restaurant. The fi nal meetinggives us a chance to celebrate themembers who helped make the previousyear a fun-fi lled and rewarding year of6new information and experiences. Wealso thank in advance members who havevolunteered to work towards making the2012-2013 season just as rewarding andfun-fi lled.As usual, we extend a warm invitationto any who would like to join us in thesekinds of activities, or might just like tovisit once to check us out.
