As <strong>of</strong> the date <strong>of</strong> this report conference calls were held in Juneand July.Reinforced the importance <strong>of</strong> whole heath and reviewed a list <strong>of</strong> suggested KPI physicalhealth status indicators. Placed the issue <strong>of</strong> collecting physical health indicators on holdpending the outcome <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Department</strong>’s ASO discussions.<strong>Developmental</strong> Disabilities Program Quality CouncilThe <strong>Developmental</strong> Disabilities PQC meets quarterly and has held two meetings betweenDecember 2012 and June 2013. During those meetings the DD PQC:Reviewed the 2010 - 2011 NCI performance indicator data <strong>of</strong> consumers who have had aroutine dental exam in the past year, and noted that <strong>Georgia</strong> scored significantly lowerthan the NCI average. As a result <strong>of</strong> the high prioritization by the EQC, a performanceimprovement project between the Division <strong>of</strong> <strong>Developmental</strong> Disabilities and the <strong>Georgia</strong><strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> Public <strong>Health</strong> was discussed. As an interim measure, the dental clinics atall DBHDD state hospitals will remain open and available to individuals with DD whoare supported by DBHDD.Implemented a project to evaluate the current DD quality management system;components <strong>of</strong> the evaluation include:o Document reviews;o Assessment <strong>of</strong> “as is” status <strong>of</strong> the system;o Facilitation <strong>of</strong> a workgroup to design the “to be” quality system;o Design <strong>of</strong> preliminary and extended training necessary to implement the newsystem;o Development <strong>of</strong> a comprehensive manual for the implementation <strong>of</strong> aComprehensive Quality System for <strong>Georgia</strong>’s <strong>Developmental</strong> Disability System.Monitored the status <strong>of</strong> Quality Management Work Plan Goals.Reviewed ADA transition process and data in order to improve the quality <strong>of</strong> transitionsto from State Hospitals to the Community.Reviewed the ongoing work <strong>of</strong> the DD Advisory Council which included qualityimprovement efforts in the DD system structure, system performance, and customerfocus.Set program priorities for the <strong>Department</strong>’s RFP for an Administrative ServiceOrganization5
