Sta., Union, Oregon. Moderately tall, semierect, densely tuftedfine-leaved perennial bunchgrass. More uniform, drought resistant, andshade tolerant than chewings fescue. Leaves abundant, long, narrow, lax,basal, somewhat harsh. Culms numerous, fine, average production of seed700 pounds per acre. Adapted to dryland areas of the west and northwestin rainfall zones of 12 to 30 inches and on well drained soil underirrigation.The following were developed by J.L. Slow to establish but onceestablished very persistent, winter- hardy, drought-tolerant, andresistant to common turf diseases.The following were developed by H.B. Musser.
