This picture was taken onMarch 1, 1905. Now building 41401, it was first known as bldg. no. 54 and <strong>the</strong>n no. 4001.Bldg. no. 41401 [<strong>Fort</strong> <strong>Huachuca</strong> Museum]. The building which now houses <strong>the</strong> <strong>Fort</strong> <strong>Huachuca</strong>Historical Museum has had varied uses since its construction in 1892. First a post chapel, andfor a brief time, <strong>the</strong> home <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> post chaplain Maj. Winfield Scott, <strong>the</strong> building later became <strong>the</strong>bachelor <strong>of</strong>ficers’ quarters. It was remodeled in 1920 as <strong>the</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficers’ club, and used for thatpurpose until 1941. The structure <strong>the</strong>n became post headquarters, and in 1960 was convertedinto a museum.
