Minutes from the Executive Board MeetingJanuary 24-25, 20072BPS MEMBER PRESENTATIONTony Morabito, President Local 636 and Sean Allan, President Local 477made a presentation to the Executive Board. Also in attendance were thefollowing members: Jill McIllwraith, Debbie MacDonald, Jamie Ramage and LoisBoggs.Moved by Rout/BrownTHEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the OPSEU Executive Boardapprove in principle the creation of a new health care sector division asproposed. Such division will include bargaining units whose members areemployed predominantly in the provision of collection, screening, laboratory orother diagnostic services in agencies or organizations other than public hospitals;andBE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the HCDC draft by-lawsincorporating the principles described above and submit them to the Presidentfor approval before March 7, 2007; andBE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the approved draft by-laws bedistributed to the bargaining units proposed for inclusion in the new divisionand presented to delegates for approval at a founding meeting to be held inconjunction with the BPS Conference.CARRIEDMoved by Casselman/Thomas – In-Camera - CARRIEDRise and ReportMoved by Casselman/JacksonTHEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Executive Board ratify thetentative collective agreement with OPSSU.CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY
