Urine samples

Technique:• The catheter tubing should be clamped off above theport.• The wall of the tubing should then be cleaned vigorouslywith 70 % alcohol and urine e aspirated via a needle andsyringe.• The first milliliters of urine from the catheter should bediscarded.• Specimens obtained from the collection bag areinappropriate.
