Deterioration of urine sample:1- Any bacteria in the urine will multiply.2- If the organism is urease producing, will increase pHresult in destruction of cells and casts.3- Concentration of protein will be altered.4- If WBCs, RBCs and casts are present these will begin tolyse especially in a concentrated specimen.
Rejection criteria1- No evidence of refrigeration and the specimen>2h old2- The collection time and method have not been provided3- 24-h urine collection.4- Foley's catheter tips.5- From the bag of the catheterized patients6- arrive in leaky container.7- Request for anaerobic culture, except for suprapubicbladder aspirates
