According topreliminary estimate, <strong>the</strong> Crimea has potential in sphere <strong>of</strong>energy that considerably exceeds its own requirements. Itconsists, first <strong>of</strong> all, <strong>of</strong> stocks <strong>of</strong> hydrocarbonic raw materialon <strong>the</strong> territory <strong>of</strong> peninsula and on adjoining shelf <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>Black and Azov seas. The developed resources <strong>of</strong> naturalgas in <strong>the</strong> Crimea are <strong>about</strong> 50 billion cube meters, oil- <strong>about</strong>3 million tons, gas condensate- more than 5 million tons inrecalculation on conditional fuel, i.e. more than third <strong>of</strong> totalstocks <strong>of</strong> hydrocarbonic raw material in Ukraine. Accordingto experts' estimations, no more than 4% <strong>of</strong> potential volume<strong>of</strong> hydrocarbons stocks is developed in <strong>the</strong> Crimea and on <strong>the</strong>shelf. Besides this, natural and climatic features <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> regionprovide conditions for reception <strong>of</strong> energy from renewedsources: significant wind potential- up to 15 billion kilowatthour per year (average speed <strong>of</strong> wind in some places <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>Crimea makes 5,25-5,75 km/s), high level <strong>of</strong> solar radiation(354 Kw/sq. m), presence <strong>of</strong> geo<strong>the</strong>rmal resources, complex<strong>of</strong> natural and climatic conditions for cultivation <strong>of</strong> cultureswith <strong>the</strong> purpose <strong>of</strong> production <strong>of</strong> biodiesel engine andmethanol, etc.At <strong>the</strong> same time, technical base <strong>of</strong> fuel and energycomplex is characterized by high deterioration degree. So,deterioration <strong>of</strong> air-lines <strong>of</strong> electricity transmissions withvoltage <strong>of</strong> 0.4, 35 and 110 kilowatt has reached its criticallevel. As a result, deficiency <strong>of</strong> capacities during maximalloadings <strong>of</strong> electric power transportation reaches 200-250megawatt.The basic directions <strong>of</strong> investments into fuel and energycomplex <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Autonomous Republic <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Crimea can be<strong>the</strong> following:- Construction, modernization and reconstruction <strong>of</strong> mainand distributive electric networks;- Modernization and escalating <strong>of</strong> capacities <strong>of</strong> existing<strong>the</strong>rmal power stations;- Increase in volumes <strong>of</strong> extraction <strong>of</strong> mineral hydrocarbonsdue to use intensification <strong>of</strong> working and also arrangementsand commissioning <strong>of</strong> new deposits;- Creation <strong>of</strong> decentralized system <strong>of</strong> electric energyproduction on <strong>the</strong> base <strong>of</strong> cogeneration installations that useunconventional and accompanying kinds <strong>of</strong> fuel;- Creation <strong>of</strong> geo<strong>the</strong>rmal pawer objects;- Increase in capacity existing and construction <strong>of</strong> neoN windpc:lW'er stations;-Creation <strong>of</strong> systems <strong>of</strong> electric and <strong>the</strong>rmal energygeneration using sunlight;- Cultivation and processing<strong>of</strong> agricultural crops withpurpose <strong>of</strong> production<strong>of</strong> biodiesel fuel andmethanol;- Production <strong>of</strong> fuelbriquettes fromwaste products <strong>of</strong>agroindustrialand carpentrymanufacturing .
