According topreliminary estimate, the Crimea has potential in sphere ofenergy that considerably exceeds its own requirements. Itconsists, first of all, of stocks of hydrocarbonic raw materialon the territory of peninsula and on adjoining shelf of theBlack and Azov seas. The developed resources of naturalgas in the Crimea are about 50 billion cube meters, oil- about3 million tons, gas condensate- more than 5 million tons inrecalculation on conditional fuel, i.e. more than third of totalstocks of hydrocarbonic raw material in Ukraine. Accordingto experts' estimations, no more than 4% of potential volumeof hydrocarbons stocks is developed in the Crimea and on theshelf. Besides this, natural and climatic features of the regionprovide conditions for reception of energy from renewedsources: significant wind potential- up to 15 billion kilowatthour per year (average speed of wind in some places of theCrimea makes 5,25-5,75 km/s), high level of solar radiation(354 Kw/sq. m), presence of geothermal resources, complexof natural and climatic conditions for cultivation of cultureswith the purpose of production of biodiesel engine andmethanol, etc.At the same time, technical base of fuel and energycomplex is characterized by high deterioration degree. So,deterioration of air-lines of electricity transmissions withvoltage of 0.4, 35 and 110 kilowatt has reached its criticallevel. As a result, deficiency of capacities during maximalloadings of electric power transportation reaches 200-250megawatt.The basic directions of investments into fuel and energycomplex of the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea can bethe following:- Construction, modernization and reconstruction of mainand distributive electric networks;- Modernization and escalating of capacities of existingthermal power stations;- Increase in volumes of extraction of mineral hydrocarbonsdue to use intensification of working and also arrangementsand commissioning of new deposits;- Creation of decentralized system of electric energyproduction on the base of cogeneration installations that useunconventional and accompanying kinds of fuel;- Creation of geothermal pawer objects;- Increase in capacity existing and construction of neoN windpc:lW'er stations;-Creation of systems of electric and thermal energygeneration using sunlight;- Cultivation and processingof agricultural crops withpurpose of productionof biodiesel fuel andmethanol;- Production of fuelbriquettes fromwaste products ofagroindustrialand carpentrymanufacturing .
