Highlights of 2010
Connecting Supporters and Children
The Child Sponsorship Program continues to connect caring
people in the U.S. with the children of NPH. Sponsors
generously donate the funds necessary to transform the
children’s lives while also providing guidance, encouragement
and emotional support. This relationship helps the children
develop self-esteem and reinforces the life lessons they are
taught at NPH.
Seeing Our Support in Action
Friends of the Orphans organizes trips to the NPH homes on a
regular basis, making arrangements for transportation,
accommodations and activities. These visits allow supporters
to see first-hand how they are helping transform the lives of
children who once struggled to survive. Some trips include
work projects, such as gardening or constructing facilities.
Raising Awareness and Funds
The regional offices of Friends of the Orphans organize local
events to raise awareness of Friends as well as funds for the
NPH homes. Events vary from fun runs to galas. In addition,
supporters plan and host their own events, such as concerts
and cocktail parties, and giving campaigns to benefit Friends
and the children of NPH. In 2010, there were 57 supporter
events and campaigns for Haiti earthquake relief, yielding
$760,337, and 10 for general support, yielding $38,151.

Longtime Friend Brian Orr (pictured below at NPH Honduras) raised over $14,000 through a birthday campaign.
