Nick graduated from Traverse City Central High School where he played 3years of varsity baseball. He received medals for All-Conference, and All-District his junior andsenior seasons and was chosen All-State 2nd Team for pitching his senior year. Nick is majoringin Criminal Justice and also plans to pursue his baseball career at a 4 year university. Nick isthankful for his family, friends, and coaches for supporting him though out his life.Coach’s Comments: Nick had a good fall and we are hoping he can solidify the 4th spot in ourrotation or he will have to spot start! He has some habits to break so that we can see someconsistency in his throwing. We are sure he can help us.# Name27 Brandon Melchert - Red ShirtBrandon is the son of Greg and Lori Melchert. He is a graduate of Mason County Central HighSchool where he was a three sport athlete. In his senior year of baseball he earned academicAll-Conference, 1st Team All-Conference as a pitcher, earning 2nd Team All-State. After histime at Muskegon, Brandon plans to transfer to a four year university to pursue his degree inSecondary Education.Coach’s Comments: Brandon had offseason Tommy John surgery and will be red-shirted this year.He was in our starting 4 last year and we expect him to come back in that role next year! He hasgood leadership skills and will be missed this year.# Name Pos B/T Ht Wt Yr Hometown High School28 Chris Williams 1B/P R/R 6’0” 230 Fr Shepherd/Shepherd H SChris was born on May 8, 1993 to his parents Becky and Forrest Williams. Chris attendedShepherd High School and graduated in June 2012. His baseball awards were All-State 1st teamin his senior season and he was selected to play in the East vs. West All-Star game at ComericaPark. Chris is a 3 year varsity baseball letterman and also won a state championship in D3.Coach’s Comments: Chris is adjusting to the speed of the game, he has a good arm and somemajor skills as a hitter. Once Chris feels comfortable and confident at this level he will be a majorforce. We hope that will be this year. Chris will play 1st base and will be used out of the bullpen.

He has one sister Kaity. He is a graduate ofKenowa Hills High School in 2011. Greg lettered in baseball and basketball. This is Greg’ssophomore season for the Jayhawks. He enjoys hunting, sports, and hanging out with hisfriends in his spare time. Greg is a catcher and Business major who plans to continue hisbaseball career at a 4 year university.Coach’s Comments: Greg will share duties in Catching. He has improved as a catcher from lastyear but we need him to be the type of hitter we think he can be to play a major role this year.# Name Pos B/T Ht Wt Yr Hometown High School33 John Jackoviak OF R/R 6’1” 180 So Scottville/Mason County Central H SJohn is the son of Jim and Jan Jackoviak and has one older sister, Juliana. He graduated fromMason County Central High School in 2011. John played football, baseball, and basketballall four years in high school. John played right field for the Jayhawks his freshmen year. Heplans on transferring to a four year institution after this year. When not playing baseball, Johnenjoys spending time hunting and fishing with his family.Coach’s Comments: John is one of our co-captains. He has great skills in the outfield and at theplate. He struggled last year but we anticipate a great year from him this year. We need him toknock in runs.# Name Pos B/T Ht Wt Yr Hometown High School34 Josh Wieten C/3B R/R 5’10” 220 Fr Muskegon/Orchard View H SJosh is the son of Rachel and David Wieten. He graduated from Orchard View High Schoolin 2012 where he was a 4 year starter on the baseball team. He was named 1st TeamAll-Conference,All-District, and All-State in his senior season. After his 2 years at MCCJosh plans to transfer to a 4 year institution and continue playing baseball while pursuing adegree in Pharmacy. He would like to thank his family and friends for all their support anddedication throughout the years.Coach’s Comments: Josh is a pure hitter that we think will be a great catcher next year or perhapsthis year. He also will play some 3rd base and is a potential DH as well. He could be one of thebest hitters ever at MCC ever before he leaves here!
