<strong>How</strong> <strong>to</strong> <strong>submit</strong> a Wireless <strong>Port</strong> <strong>Request</strong> <strong>Fax</strong> (WPR) <strong>via</strong> Syniverse’s <strong>Fax</strong> ServerNSP= Wireless <strong>Fax</strong> Trading Partner (TP)OSP= Wireless Carrier Using Syniverse’s Service Management Gateway (SMG) <strong>Port</strong>ing Application.INITIAL SCENE:1.Wireless <strong>Fax</strong> TP (NSP) wants <strong>to</strong> <strong>submit</strong> a <strong>Port</strong> <strong>In</strong> request <strong>to</strong> “win” a Telephone Number (TN) from aWireless Carrier (OSP) that uses Syniverse’s SMG.• NOTE: This is a <strong>Port</strong> in for the <strong>Fax</strong> TP, a <strong>Port</strong> Out for the SMG TP2. The Wireless <strong>Fax</strong> TP manually fills out a 2-page Wireless <strong>Port</strong> <strong>Request</strong> (WPR) fax form3. The Wireless <strong>Fax</strong> TP faxes the WPR <strong>to</strong> Syniverse’s <strong>Fax</strong> Server*4. Syniverse’s <strong>Fax</strong> Server forwards the image <strong>to</strong> Optical Character Reader for Forms application.5. Syniverse’s <strong>Fax</strong> Repair Rep performs verification on the WPR <strong>via</strong> OCRFF & “Releases” <strong>to</strong> the SMG.• Note: Verification is identified as the process of reviewing inbound fax responses andrequests <strong>to</strong> identify fax errors, then correcting these errors using OCRFF. <strong>Fax</strong> errorsinclude questionable characters that OCRFF cannot recognize on the fax image (forexample, OCRFF is unsure if a mark is a numeral “1” or a lower case letter "L")6. The SMG sends the WPR <strong>to</strong> the OSP’s SMGThe following screen prints illustrate the fields <strong>to</strong> fill out on a WPR fax form, in order <strong>to</strong> pass theValidations (business rules) in the Syniverse SMG porting application. Fields highlighted in yellow areREQUIRED fields for the SMG.This example shows a single-line port request.NOTE: These instructions do NOT include information on how <strong>to</strong> pass Business Rules for specificSyniverse Cus<strong>to</strong>mers.For example, “ABC Wireless” uses the Syniverse SMG <strong>Port</strong>ing Application. (NOTE: The New SP will not know if this person is authorized <strong>to</strong> request a <strong>Port</strong> <strong>to</strong> be done. The OldSP can tell the New SP <strong>to</strong> decline if the person is not authorized <strong>to</strong> make the request.)23.
