2.4 Police Headquarters EstablishmentIn addition to the field establishment, a number of senior officers at PoliceHeadquarters assist the IGP in looking after different aspects of police work.For instance, the Punjab Police have its headquarters located at the CentralPolice Office in Lahore (CPO) where a number of functional units reside suchas Headquarters (to look after postings, transfers, and promotions of seniorranks), Finance and Welfare (to look after budgets, procurements, and staffwelfare), and Establishment (to look after promotions of junior ranks) etc.Further, there is the Criminal Investigation Department, Investigation Branch,and Special Branch (see page 27).
