Part B - Health Facility Briefing and PlanningCOMPONENTS OF THE UNIT460 .6.00IntroductionThe Medical Imaging - CT Scanning will contain a co<strong>mb</strong>ination of StandardComponents and Non-Standard Components, according to the Level ofService.Standard Components must <strong>com</strong>ply with details in the Standard Componentsdescribed in these Guidelines. Refer also to Standard Components RoomData Sheets.460 .7.00460 .8.00460 .9.00Standard ComponentsProvide the Standard Components as identified in the Generic Schedules ofAc<strong>com</strong>modation.Non-Standard ComponentsProvide the Non-Standard Components as identified in this section and in theSchedule of Ac<strong>com</strong>modation, according to the Operational Policy andFunctional Brief.CT SCANNING ROOMDESCRIPTION AND FUNCTIONThe CT Scanning room provides an area and equipment for CT examinations.CT Scanning Rooms shall be sized as required to ac<strong>com</strong>modate theequipment. The minimum area required will be 38 m2.460 .10.00LOCATION AND RELATIONSHIPSThe CT Scanning Room should be located adjacent to the Control Room andshould have ready access to patient holding areas, patient toilet/ changefacilities, preparation and storage areas.460 .11.00CONSIDERATIONSThe CT Scanning Room will require clinical scrub facilities immediatelyadjacent to the room.460 .12.00CT CONTROL ROOMDESCRIPTION AND FUNCTIONA Control Room shall be provided that is designed to ac<strong>com</strong>modate the<strong>com</strong>puter and other controls for the equipment. A viewing window shall beprovided to permit full view of the patient.
