Corporate Partners<br />
The Corporate Partners Program (CPP) was launched to foster close communication<br />
between the <strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Computer</strong> Science and private industry in the context <strong>of</strong><br />
a mutually beneficial relationship.<br />
The <strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Computer</strong> Science enjoys the benefit <strong>of</strong> financial contributions,<br />
nurturing experiences for our students and collaboration with industry leaders. At<br />
the same time, members in our CPP reap the benefit <strong>of</strong> increased visibility, priority<br />
access to top students who may become future employees, as well as priority access<br />
to faculty who are experts in relevant technical fields. True to any real partnership,<br />
both sides benefit significantly.<br />
Companies participate through strategic, unrestricted donations at tier levels and are<br />
involved in many core activities <strong>of</strong> the department. Company representatives take<br />
advantage <strong>of</strong> opportunities to speak in classes, sponsor student projects, and make<br />
significant contact with <strong>CS</strong> students and faculty. Members <strong>of</strong> the CPP include giants<br />
<strong>of</strong> the information technology industry; as well as smaller, specialized companies.<br />
Partner members represent Indiana-based companies and other outstanding firms<br />
nationwide. This diverse and dynamic membership provides <strong>CS</strong> students with<br />
exposure to a myriad <strong>of</strong> career opportunities across the United States.<br />
The Corporate Partners meet twice each year to provide input and feedback to<br />
departmental and college leadership. Recent contributions <strong>of</strong> the council include<br />
assistance in revising the undergraduate and graduate curricula, suggestions regarding<br />
retention and enrollment issues, collaborative efforts with faculty and student<br />
research, as well as alerting the department to industry areas <strong>of</strong> concern, such as<br />
global outsourcing.<br />
