His work has allowed himto gain extensive international businessexperience operating in USA, Canada,Asia <strong>and</strong> Europe. In addition to hiscurrent remit within Scottish Power,part of the Iberdrola Group, he holds anumber of external industry positions<strong>and</strong> responsibilities.Richard VokeHead of Regulatory CorporateCrime Department, LyonsDavidson SolicitorsRichard the Lyons Davidson RegulatoryCorporate Crime Department.Before becoming a solicitor, Richardgained a wealth of experience in all aspectsof regulatory work. This includes beingan HSE inspector for eight years wherehe specialised in major hazard industries,prosecuting his own cases, then workingas an international risk managementconsultant for AEA Technology plc.He specialises in defending regulatoryprosecutions (<strong>Environment</strong> Agency,HSE, Defra, local authorities etc) <strong>and</strong>advising organisations on pro-active riskmanagement, <strong>and</strong> providing seniormanagement training seminars. He isa qualified Advanced <strong>Environment</strong>alManagement Systems Auditor an ADRMediator, a chartered member of theIOSH <strong>and</strong> has a master’s degree in<strong>Environment</strong>al Toxicology.Peter Vujanic B.Eng(Hons), C.Eng,FIET, DipMgt(Open)Operations <strong>Safety</strong> Manager,Scottish <strong>and</strong> Southern <strong>Energy</strong>Peter’s career can simply be summarisedas having gone full circle: from poacher togamekeeper <strong>and</strong> back again!Initially, he started his working life at SouthWestern Electricity (more recently known asWestern Power Distribution) as a GraduateManagement Trainee. There he spentover a decade in numerous roles gainingexperience in many electricity distributiondisciplines such as construction,maintenance, commissioning, operations,policy <strong>and</strong> project management at allvoltages up to <strong>and</strong> including 132kV.Following this, Peter then spent around8 years in a regulatory enforcementenvironment; formerly at Department forTrade <strong>and</strong> Industry as a Senior EngineeringInspector <strong>and</strong> latterly at the <strong>Health</strong> & <strong>Safety</strong>Executive as a Principal Specialist Inspector(Electrical <strong>Networks</strong>). It was in these rolesthat Peter developed his keen interest in<strong>Health</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Safety</strong> matters affecting the ESI.In early 2010, Peter realised that poachinghad better long term prospects <strong>and</strong> sojumped at the opportunity to return to theprivate sector.
