Casa di Nico Uniquely picturesque Italian Dining by the waterfront is something that has been lost for a long time, but Casa di Nico brings the traditional Italian culture back into Sydney. Opened in May 2004, the warm finishes of the wooden wine racking, the traditional red and white table cloths, and a pizza over a candle lit table makes for a perfect setting by the waterfront on King Street Wharf. Being able to sit 400 people, with a private dining room that can hold 40 people, Casa di Nico brings Italy to Sydney in a way that has never been before... The focal point of the venue is our Woodfired Pizza Oven that was flown over to Sydney from Florence. As Nick always says, a pizza oven is only as good as the chef that makes them, and so Salvatore D’Avola was shipped over from Italy to put on display Italian Pizza Making like it has never been seen before… Watch in amazement as Salvo (as he likes to be called) spins, flips, and throws the dough in the air- be mesmerised as this acrobat Italian spins a pizza dough behind his back, under his leg, and then launches it into the air before sliding it into the woodfired oven… The Pizza is only a slice of the menu with the Chefs creating traditional Italian dishes that will stop any Italian in their tracks. Sourcing the best of Salami, Sorpressa, Prosciutto and Aged Italian Cheeses, the quintessential Italian cuisine is taken to new heights.
The Private Dining Room, PRIVATO, allows for not only business meetings, but bucks nights, hens nights or simply for a private dining experience that will not be forgotten. With the capacity to hold a maximum of 40 people, this dining room is self contained with AV ability, has a self maintained bar and coffee machine as well as ornate candelabras to give it that classic renaissance feel.
