Education andCommunity ProgramsNew Education StreamThe Black Dog Institute is establishing aconsolidated Education stream to facilitate expandedservices and a greater national presence.Our education programs have been in highdemand for several years, as shown in the separatereports presented below.From 2013, the Black Dog Community andProfessional teams will combine to gain maximumbenefit from translating research findings into patientoutcomes for different audiences across the workforce,the community at large and health professionals.The new model will improve the Institute’s influenceand ability to engage in expansionary activitiessuch as grant applications and establishing formal collaborationswith the Commonwealth and other Statesand Territories, as well as other not-for-profit bodies.Professional Education andTraining teamIn 2012, the Black Dog Institute expandedthe scope and the range of Education and Trainingprograms.Feedback from health professionals who participatedin these courses is overwhelmingly positiveas they believe their management of mood disorderswith their patients has improved significantly.The Institute’s Professional Education andTraining (PET) team is responsible for the provision ofaccredited mental health education of:□□□□□□□□□□□□General Practitioners and GP registrarsPsychologistsSchool CounsellorsNursesAllied Health professionalsClinicians working with young people.R.E.A.C.H.
