CONTENT
A construction book with sliding doors, flaps, wheels and
cut-outs. Detailed and accurate illustrations all around
construction sites show how diverse the work is that takes
place there. The exciting special effects let children get
involved in the action: with the wheel they can mix cement
and by opening a flap the backhoe lifts rubble, the crane
builds a bridge, and the tracks of the backhoe's digging on
the ground can be felt throught the cut-outs.
The varied effects develop fine motor skills and children's
imagination, while the fun and informative rhymes invite
them to play and explore.
THE AUTHOR
Daniela Prusse was born in Glarus, Switzerland, in 1968.
After high school she worked at a bookstore before
spending an exchange year in Sweden. Next was a stay in
the French-speaking part of Switzerland and training as an
elementary school teacher. Daniela Prusse worked in that
field for thirteen years before training in electronic
publishing and becoming an editor. Writing and language
have always been very important to Daniela Prusse; she
easily communicates in six different languages.
THE ILLUSTRATOR
Wolfgang Metzger is trained in lithography and graphic
design. After his studies he illustrated textbooks for a long
time, but has concentrated on designing and illustrating
children's books for more than 20 years. Wolfgang Metzger
has four daughters and lives with his family near Stuttgart.
